I give Johnny a lot of respect...Quite a few "fans" still insist the old Skynyrd was the best. Well, they're gone (mostly) and Johnny could have exploited the LS name to bits if he had wanted to, but he didn't, he picked up the torch and kept it real like his brother would have. If I hear Freebird in a paper towel commercial, then I may change my mind, but Johnnie deserves and gets my respect! He lost his brother and then he grew up having to hear "Your nothing like your brother." How terrible is that? He's kept the name rocking and respectable all these years!

With Ed King's untimely death in 2018 it sadly leaves only Gary Rossington and Artimus Pyle that played with the band during it's hay day with Ronnie out front. Although guitarists Rickey Medlocke did do some drumming for them during the early days that made it onto the First and Last album, but he decided drums just wasn't for him, so he left the band and would later help form Blackfoot.
