@@kevinblackmon6990 i was a the next to last sknnyrd show in lakeland florida were i was working and i only like one song by skynyrd post crash.. i did like smokestack lightening..everyone is in it for the money, and the money aint what it used to be.. i didnt care much for molly hatchet for the last 30 or so years ,, but my best friend in the world is now the lead singer.. and jimmy can sing.. i know it's more like a cover band, but hey when it is your best friend i have no choice but to like them.. i have some versions of him in my studio,, and he can sing the pants off of johnny van zant,, he sounds just as good as ronnie.. his mister banker, made in the shade misissippi kid, i never dreamed, swamp music. poison whiskey recordings he did in my studio are spectacular.. here is his version of skynyrds on the hunt.. give it a listen he did this in one take with no vocal effects and sang his own harmonies.. it's worth the listen,, kzitem.info/news/bejne/w59v3K2oaYxifJw

I really did not think that this song would be able to be covered. Jonnie surprised me in every way. To think I never got to see them live before the passing of my very favorite guitarist ever. RIP Gary. Hope you’re enjoying rock and roll heaven. I’ll see you there. I swear by it.

I had plans to see them in Billings last August but I had a wedding to go to that same day north of town. Then I was going to try to catch them in Spokane but I couldn't make that one either. Two of my biggest regrets is that I never got to see Gary perform live and I never got to tell him about the meaning of the song Free Bird to me. We dedicated that song to my wife's granddaughter who passed away Halloween of 2021. RIP Gary. We miss you

"I Need You" Ain't no need to worry Ain't no use to cry 'Cause I'll be comin' home soon To keep you satisfied You know I get so lonely That I feel I can't go on And it feels so good inside, baby Just to call you on the telephone I said... [Chorus] Oh baby, I love you What more can I say Oh baby, I need you I miss you more everyday I woke up early this morning And sun came shining down And it found me wishin' and hopin' Mama, you could be around Well ,you know that I need you More than the air that I breathe And I guess I'm just trying to tell you woman Oh, what you mean to me [Chorus] I try to tell you I love you In each and every way I'm trying to tell you I need you Much more than a piece of leg [Chorus] Oh baby, I love you What more can I say Oh baby I need your sweet lovin I miss you more every day

I was given the pleasure to see this great band in 1977. The plane went down. My DAD passed just a few days later.
