I could listen to Gary talk forever..such a class act and that sweet southern soul...RIP Gary..

he once said that Ronnie was a badass and that if someone was talking to Ronnie in a hotel room or other event while he was drinking, that he could be holding a good conversation with you and then just turn on you in an instant. He may say something like, "do you think you can make it over to that door before I get you?" He would really freak people out and hit them if they weren't careful around him. he had a mean-streak is I guess what Gary meant. Gary talks about this to this day like it was just yesterday. I'd love to interview Gary.

I’m building a guitar from wood from the Hell House original Dock, and foundation from Hell House, and incorporating metal from the plane. Once it’s complete we will loan it out to touring musicians so those timber’s will continue to sing and vibrate. LLLS. Long Live Lynyrd Skynyrd.. if anybody knows Gary Rossington I’d love for him to sign it when complete, or donate a pick, or something I can incorporate into it. Tell him to hit me up...

the late 1960's in Jacksonville. Fl, long hair was not all that common. The kids had crew cuts for the most part. A lot of the fathers on our street were Navy pilots or Shipboard Officers. edit: if we had stayed there, I would have attended Nathan Bedford Forrest high school.

@@ericcleesak8074 Rickey was there but not for long. He sang four songs for the band, all on the Muscle Shoals album or two on First and Last. He was at the Friendship Fountain gig, that film footage which is on the Reunion Tour video. The fact is though, that Rickey was only in the band for about a year. Larry Junstrum could also be considered an "original member" just as one or both of the Blackfoot members. I think they both played on some of the 71 or earlier tracks. Larry and Rickey were almost members of the big time band but they didn't make it for one reason or another. Rickey was brought in simply because he was basically considered a friend, a one time player in the band. Rickey did come out of Jacksonville, just as Larry did. But, NO, Rickey wasn't there for the fame period of the band, and not even the reunion tour. Rickey was given a job when he needed a job to pay his bills.
