Man I can remember growing up Mya, Monica, Brandy, & Aaliyah were running things!! My god!! They were all different but uniquely talented!! What a time!

Right, it was those 4 the young black female teen queens. Then the industry as they always do, said nah we need 4 white ones, hence, Britney, Christina, Jessica Simpson & Mandy Moore. Just like how Jodeci, Boyz II Men, Shai and all them early 90s black groups, turned into Backstreet Boys, Nsync, 98 Degrees, LFO, O-Town, etc. But hey, I loved them all as a kid. still do

@@CaapriceTube1 you are absolutely right!!!! Monica, Brandy, Aaliyah, & Mya walked so Britney, Xtina, Jessica, & Pink more so than Mandy could run. All facts!

I love Mya sooo much. What a human being. There's pros and cons to being an independent artist. The pros would be you have more freedom to express whatever it is you personally want to express in the fashion and timing you want to express it. You don't have to answer to nobody. The cons is that you don't have a team, so everything is being funded and done independently (Hench: independent artist). But not being independent also have pros and cons. The cons would be you are a controlled artist and don't have the final say. You don't get to make your own decisions. Someone else makes all your big career decisions for you. In other words, you can remain true to yourself like Mya. Or a popular sellout like doja cat with no morals.

Mya has an italian mom and a Jamaican dad. You are not a descendant of American Chattel Slavery. Juneteenth is not your lineage. Be truthful Mya, we still love you but don't lie about your lineage.
@vernonjohnsonjr7389

Lady are you crazy you need to really read first of all her dad is part of the 12 tribes of Israel and he's Jamaican and Jamaica had slaves. Slaves where in the Caribbean before they where brought to America plus it was Black people already in America before slavery. Stop being a hater and know your history before you open your mouth.

Juneteenth is not your lineage either. You are the topical Arkansan. Slavery runs just as deep in her bloodline as it does in yours.

First off sister….. since the beginning of time we understand that your nation of ppl derives from you father not mother. So while your mothers family is your family, her nation of people (unless the same as your fathers) is not your nation of ppl. The fact that you dropped her mothers lineage proves you have a very modernized twisted western worldview. It’s her paternal lineage that matters when talking about her nation of ppl. Secondly, the Jamaicans are our brothers/sisters brought from around the same areas to a land that was not theirs and oppressed…… your logic however is, “well they were not in the exact place we were in”. That’s why we won’t succeed. We hate ourselves and our own family can’t celebrate our freedom with us
@rses916

That is so dumb. Jamaicans are also descendant of slaves. It might not be american it's the same history.
@rahbeeuh

@@keyshonjones901this is incorrect. Both parents count. 50% of a mom and 50% of a dad is what makes up a child's DNA. Mya is a biracial woman, we accept her in the Black community but let's not lie about lineages.
