But the stars weren't even criticizing Do姐 when they were saying cheesy and corny. The celebrities understood her perfectly and that's all that matters.

lounge同pad要講絕對冇問題,但後面嗰啲真係做多咗,咩messages to say to your fans嗰啲咁minor嘅嘢,邊個得閒care? (Edit: 睇返the do show多一次,發現do姐根本就冇讀錯lounge,而且佢第二次問嘅時候係問「any messages for your fans」,姐係你所講嘅「正確問法」。 但你屌do姐miss咗timothee "connected through"嗰句㗎喎,你冇理由自己都miss啊?

I played the video several times but still didn't hear her mispronoucning the word "lounge." Regarding the word "iPad," maybe it was indeed a genuine mistake (e.g. a Hong Kong slang? I don't live in Hong Kong and am therefore not very up-to-date with Hong Kong slangs), or maybe it was just a blunder. Hard to tell. For example, I heard you (mis)pronouncing the word "confidence" (you said "confident" instead). Was it a genuine mistake or just a blunder? I am pretty sure it was the latter. But you see, when you watch a clip like that, you can pick up tons of mistakes, both grammatical and pronunciation, even in the speech of a native speaker or of someone who, like you, is very fluent in the language.

@@benng1903 Fair enough. But please don't be rude. I was just pointing out my observation and sharing my two cents. I grew up in the U.K. and currently live in Canada. I am bilingual in English and French. I live and breathe English and French. My spouse and most of my friends are French-Canadians. But I work in an all-Anglophone environment. I believe my English is more "native" than Michael's. But please don't mistake me. I have no intention to denigrate Michael and to slight his achievement. His English is very very very good, for a non-native speaker. No question about that. Having said that, he still speaks with a slight but noticeable Cantonese accent. I don't. Moreover, unlike me, he has never really lived in an Anglophone country. Based on what he said, he has just lived in NYC for a few months for drama/theatre training. (I could be mistaken.) On the other hand, I have spent the bulk of my life in the U.K., then the U.S., and finally Canada. But of course, Michael teaches English to Cantonese/Mandarin speakers, so he has the language-teaching experience which I lack. I know Michael has a cult-like following, thanks to his charismatic personality and unique style of communication. But that doesn't mean everything he says is a decree or accurate. There is always room for criticisms (and improvement), just like he never spares his penuriousness in his criticisms of other. But again, please don't be rude and don't resort to ad hominem fallacy (personal attack). I wasn't rude in my comment. I think even Michael himself wouldn't mind any constructive criticisms.

But I have learned some English from him and he really understands the problem we are facing, like the language (actually culture) barriers when we chit chat with locals in English speaking countries.

English is not her first language and I think that's job well done. Kudos to her! The way you teach English is exactly why we have students scare of practicing the language. The fear of making mistakes. Please stop with this nonsense.
Your integrity is not good. I think Ms Cheng has no problem on her pronunciation, just a little bit Hongkie’ accent. Please learn how to respect people.

Putting other people down are what bullies, insecure people and people with low self-esteem do to boost themselves up. It is a very maladaptive behavior. Mocking accomplishes nothing and makes people think you’re an idiot.
I did my homework. Watched the interviews myself. You see. For the record, Zendaya never called Dodo "cheesey". I'm not sure Michael MMG misunderstood the conversation because of lack of English comprehension? Or out right taking something out of context to manipulate a narrative? Either way, Zendaya or the other lady never called her cheesey. Zendaya's answer was, "Without sounding cheesey.... everyone was incredible! Everyone was thoughtful!" That was the answer to Dodo's classy question of "Any memorable moments working with the amazing crew?" If I was subscribed to this channel, I would've unsubbed! Very classless.
Can you both share any insights or challenges, and excitements working with such a talented cast and crew on Dune 2? Any memorable moments behind the scenes that you can share with us? Zendaya:I think honestly, the whole, I mean, without sounding like.. Florence Pugh:Cheesy, I know, I get it. Zendaya:Yeah, cheesy.. being like “oh! Everything was great!”. But everyone is so incredible…
Language is just a medium for communication. One's capability to speak in English does not define him/her, so is the education level. This kind of judgment is shallow and that's why you never succeed. Cheers!

I personally find Miss Cheng's English excellent byHK standard, much better than that of many other stars in the HK entertainment industry. Of course I would not describe her English as perfect, but yours is not flawless either. For example, you pronounce the word "cheesy" as "cheezy"; your accent is mostly American but is littered with a few British pronunciations here and there. Miss Cheng did not have the opportunity of going to a university, but her English is certainly well above that of most university graduates nowadays. The same applies to her achievement s in many other respects.
