In this time of terrifying war happening in my region of the world your films bring me peace of mind and take my thoughts off of terrible atrocities committed by the russian army in the neighbouring Ukraine. Many thanks for your efforts. They are highly appreciated!

There are Maori carving schools here where you can make your own Taiaha. That's why in the book of boba I knew temuera had a hand in the gaffi making a scene. In the Maori carving schools, you make something unique to your and your journey or ancestry called whakapapa if doing a Maori design, and it's not just random. It has meaning. And you usually get help from someone. You don't have to be Maori to learn it either.

Wow. It’s so interesting how changing the size of a weapon can change how it’s used. This could be more like a large baton than a small staff. I’ve seen the martial art associated with the Taiaha and it actually could work with a shorter staff, but still. And yeah it’s extremely practical

It is kind of obvious that scaling weapon up or down will change how it should be used. Scale spear low enough and you get a dagger. Scale dagger up and you get a sword. Scale baton up and you get a staff. Scale staff up and you get a battering ram.

It’d be fun to experiment with a really short one. Swing it like an escrima stick or whatever but look for more opportunities to hammer fist with the point on the bottom.
