Mr. Bowers. Great video and very informative. Very thorough on the feature/benefit of each holster. Question. I am 69 years of age and a concealed gun "newbie." My reason for having a 380 EZ is personal safety and home invasion. If you had to narrow the choices to 2 or 3, which ones would you suggest for me. Thanks again for the presentation and information. Very well done, sir!

What an excellent video! Thank you so much! I'm considering the 9 ez. I have a Clinger holster for a different firearm and it's by far my favorite... especially since I put on their Clinger Cushion. It's a thin pad that you put on the back of the holster with small Velcro pads. Gotta check em out!

I had an Black Hawk #2 cordura holster for my S&W M&P 9c. I got a new holster for the 9c and fit my EZ in the holster then marked where the trigger guard would hit. I took about 30 zigsag's on the sewing machine and haven't had any problem in over a year.

Lots of good info, Don, clearly presented with useful, practical observations. For videos this long, you might film it facing the camera. Facial expressions add significantly to voice to convey how you feel about each one, and connects you more to the viewer. But as a someone with a degree in education, I think you did a great job. I picked up a great leather holster for my EZ380 in a “holster bin” in a gun store. $40. Looks like the Desantis in tan, but no brand name on it. The gun cost $300, very lightly used, works great. Got lucky.

Thanks for an informative video. Interesting comment about the horsehide. I wouldn't have known the difference (except for it costs more then the cowhide). I live in Florida, so if it deals better with sweat, that is a plus.

When you sweat in horsehide it smells like a sweaty, wet horse, but the claim is that it's more durable than cowhide.

On the Kydex holsters ready field all you have to do is take a heat gun and heat the bottom muscle part of the holster and reshape it and then the EZ will fit in perfectly and snap in perfectly. I already did it.
Great video. I'm looking at the white hat site right now. Do you ever wear a shoulder holster with this weapon? I do a lot of driving for work and I'm thinking a shoulder holster will be more comfortable

I have not used a shoulder holster. I do have a friend who is a private investigator who has. My son has a magnet that affixes to his car that holds a pistol for transport and is easy to get to if you need to. You can purchase these on Amazon. I think that is a better solution then a shoulder rig. I keeps the pistol out of sight but easy to get to. He has his attached underneath the dash on the right. By the way, i just got a Whitehat holster for my M.20 compact with a light. The variety of hosters is amazing. I also did a video specifically on Whitehat holsters. Thanks for the comment.

@@bethbowers5595 that is a really good idea. Thank you. I'll look into that. I operated water and wastewater plants. I make about 15 to 20 stops a day so I don't know if all that reholstering would be advantageous but I definitely like the idea for long drives. I did order that same holster from white hat. Thank you for the advice.

I purchased two of these EZ pistols. Neither worked out of the box. Both had extraction and ejection problems, and were sent back to Smith. Obviously, S&W does not factory check them for proper function. They are assembled and shipped only. Glock will get my money from now on.

I am sorry you have a bad experience with the EZ's We have three of them in my family and have had no issues. If you are looking for a 380 Glock I would look at the Glock 42, it is a great shooter and very accurate. I don't represent S&W in any way, I just like their products. Good lock, carry safely and God bless.

I have made modifications to most of my handguns. I am very careful not to disable any of the safety features of any of them. For instance, if my handgun has a safety, i may not choose to use it but I don't modify it in any way. My EZ does not have the thumb safety but of course has the grip safety. I will not modify or disable this feature. Smith put it there for a good reason.

I think the Desantis (and most other holsters) carry the pistol too high over the belt causing gravity to pull the pistol over/away from the person. I have a very good sewing machine and I relocate the belt loop on all my holsters.

Yes, if you have an M&P Shield holster, some of them will fit the EZ. Not a great fit but my Galco and Vedder holster do work. I also have a holster for a Glock 42 that works. Agiian, not a great fit but they will work. I like hosters form whitehat holsters. They have one for the EZ.

Rothbardo Winthrop makes a leather IWB holster specifically for the .380 EZ , I ordered it Thru Amazon and it fits perfectly. You just gotta break the leather in for a few minutes by pulling the pistol in and out a few times. (Wrap pistol in the plastic bag the holster came in ) directions for braking in are included , best part, leather holster only costs $20.00 and I got it 2 days from ordering

I bought a Gunners holster for the.380 EZ with a TLR-3 and it was completely useless and had to be yanked out so hard to draw it was damaging the light. Unfortunately I didn’t have a chance to try it until after the warranty had expired. I know he makes good holsters, but this one sucked bad!

Picking up a 380 EZ tomorrow and I prefer to use shoulder rigs. So far all I've been able to find in quality leather shoulder rigs are Craft Holsters which takes 4-6 weeks and is from Czech republic and some people have had issues with them with holsters taking months etc and Alien Gear. Any thoughts on those two options and do you know anyone else that makes a quality shoulder rig for the EZ???
@donbowers1159

I don;t use shoulder rigs but i am familiar with Alien Gear, they are great holsters. However it is hard to beat a good leather holster of any type. You may need to try several out before you find just the right one. Even rigs form the same company with different hand guns may fit differently, especially with shoulder rigs. Don;t give up the search because finding the right rig is important.
