It's really quite good and quite accurate for the money

I love your collection of standard resistors, capacitors and inductors. Thing of beauty, joy for ever! :)

I borrow them from my friend who has resistance values from 1 milliohm up to 100M ohm and a very good range of standard capacitors and inductors. I do have myself some precision decade resistor boxes. These sort of standards are very rare and hard to come by.

that kit also gets bonus points for cuteness!

Very cool "standards" that you've collected! I have some 0.0025% resistors, salvaged from a 1960's military analog ballistic computer, and a 5 digit Kelvin Varley Bridge, but none of your capacitance standards, but I have a fairly decent handheld LCR meter, and a 6-1/2 digit multimeter...

I have access to these standards when needed. They are not mine. There are a lot more, so can cover most all resistance, capacitance and inductance values. They are very handy.

Nice video, sorry to forget to mention, got involved with admiring your standards!

Could you take a known good electrolytic capacitor of a few hundred micro-farads, make note of it's ESR and then put a two ohm resistor in series and then repeat the ESR measurement? I'd like to see how well the meter can track the known change in resistance.

I'll give that a try and let you know.

@@JazzyJane_uk Wasn't sure any of the KZitemrs would test ESR this way and got tired of waiting so I also ordered a M162 to try it out. Fingers crossed.

Why didn't you compare the ESR readings with the expensive meter? We couldn't read them on the small meter but the readings you were reading sounded very strange.

They were similar on the expensive meter. I did call out the ESR readings on the M162 meter as I was testing them. The ESR values were about right, except for the bad capacitors.

Just wondering, where could I find a 20 kiloHenry inductor to test its full range?

Perhaps if you could get hold of an old substation transformer that might be in the suitable large value range, lol.

Yes! haha. El-cheapo ali express sometimes good but often bad. Ok for experiments but too risky for decent projects.
