Why is the speed in MPH but the distance/odometer in Km? Seems odd mixing imperial and metric units
@Ugimara-Imokrasa
Жыл бұрын
Well. We use MPH to determine our speed because it's pretty standard for us and America. But KM is used to determine and measure distances as it is universal across the board. If that makes sense. We often use KM for navigation purposes, radio messages, maps, etc. So it's just easier that way. With the system the Army has been using for so long.

Aren't M1A2 Sep V3 have APU power unit? Why does the engine keeps on running during idle.
@Ugimara-Imokrasa
Жыл бұрын
They do have an APU. But the purpose of it is to be used when the tank is not running to provide power to the batteries so that we can ultimately save on fuel due to the APU's significantly lower fuel usage and ability to run for 120 hours straight. The APU CAN NOT run at the same time as the engine is on. It's basically a lawnmower engine that just generates power for the batteries. That's all it does.
