@@ronaldthompson4989 I feel a little sorry for the Japanese. When they were f@cked by the Soviet T-26 and BT at Halkin Gol, they firmly decided to make themselves a tank that would be stronger than the T-26. And by the end of World War II, they had succeeded... However, this did not save them much from the Shermans in 1944 and the hordes of T-34-85 and IS-2 in 1945
I apparently found out that the 75 sherman has records of them penning the Tiger tank frontally. They would constantly shoot the tiger until its armor broke from the sheer attrition of the shells. One of the most notable tank commanders did this, "War Daddy".

Oh, and later down the road, I blasted a couple more Jap tanks, and popped a cap in the tailpipes of a few dozen Jap trucks. The boys had alotta fun with some target practice when we got up to these hills, but then we ran into another bunker. However, I got lazy and hosed it with some lead before the boys smoked them out. It was a nice BBQ, though some were a little overcooked. Then we decided to chill in this village nearby so we could allow the army phoqboys to catch up. While we were waiting, the boys heard some monkeys climbing in the trees, but I scared them off. Other than that, I got a good night's rest in my tent. A couple of the boys wanted to come in, but I told them to eat $**T and play with some crayons. What? I said to him, I ain't your mommy, besh."

It historically couldn't though. In the few engagements where Shermans met tigers on the Western front Shermans won decisively through a combination of superior tactics, rate of fire, and copious amounts of artillery support. It was only in places where the terrain and tactical situation favored the tiger or in battles where the Shermans had insufficient infantry support such as Operation Goodwood, where Shermans got cut up by tigers. What caused the majority of Sherman losses were anti-tank guns firing from camouflaged positions.

@@ronaldthompson4989 It's not just that. Approximately at the same time as the atomic strikes, the USSR entered the war and defeated the Japanese army in China in a week. Japan's losses amounted to about 700,000 killed, wounded and prisoners. The losses of the Soviet Country amounted to 12,000 dead and missing and about 50,000 wounded. This was mainly due to the use of Soviet tanks such as the t-34-85 and IS-2 (the latter did not even take armor-piercing shells into battle, using only high-explosive shells) Since the battles on Khasan and Halkin Gol (1938-1939, a series of border conflicts between the USSR and Japan), Japanese tanks have not changed much. If it just didn't load up and you see two identical comments, then I apologize Of course, we captured Manchuria to take away all their dishwashers and washing machines and, of course, kill and rape the entire population, but unfortunately the Japanese had been in charge there for 5 years, so there was not much to rob there. By the way, an interesting fact. Soviet troops killed clearly fewer civilians (as well as soldiers) than American nuclear weapons killed civilians.
@user-wl6bz8kv2u
14 күн бұрын
Of course, we attacked Japanese-occupied China to rob dishwashers and refrigerators, as well as rape, dismember and rape women and children again... But the Japanese have been running this for 5 years now. Therefore, the USSR limited itself to the restoration of China, the building of communism there and the defeat of the million-strong Kwantung army in a week. At the same time, the losses of the USSR amounted to 12,000 people killed and missing. By the way, let's count how many times less the USSR killed Japanese civilians than the American "peaceful atom" in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We can recall the bombing of Tokyo. By the way, in the free and democratic USA, during the war, all Americans with Japanese roots were placed in concentration camps. Except for the USA, only Germans did this (Even in the Stalinist USSR, they did not put them in the gulag on a national basis)

Those fortunate enough to upgrade to the 47 could happilly rail solid shot (if they had it) through shermans out to 500 yards, while everyone else resorted to burrying their muzzles in side armor or dying trying. P.S. the kamikaze campaign reduced Japanese casualties, averaging 10 aircraft lost per ship hit versus 24 per hit with conventional bombing. Testimate to how brutal USN AA had gotten by that point.

What’s funny is that you can kill the turret crew with a 75 mm aphe and higher if you shoot the cupola, and you can shoot the lower side plate to kill the tiger when angled, of course you want to take out the cannon first tho.

That was actually what the Japanese did, they decided not to deploy the Chi-Nu series and instead kept all of them in Japan for the defense of the Home Islands.
