For people who didn't know, this soundtrack was one of the few in the Legend of Zelda series NOT composed by Koji Kondo. He was not present for the project, as the team who made Link's Awakening was originally comprised of volunteer Nintendo employees after hours. Shigeru Miyamoto wasn't even brought on till near the end of the project as a consultant. Mabe Village was composed by Kazue Ishikawa, who also composed the majority of the overworld themes. The other half of the tracks were composed by Minako Hamano. Both of them never having composed for games before. Pretty impressive work if you ask me :O Thanks for updating the credits in the description, guys! :D

The real composers of this piece are Kazumi Totaka, Minako Hamano and Kozue Ishikawa. Koji Kondo was a sound and music supervisor on the project. So Koji Kondo in fact did not write this piece.

something about this particular song always makes me tear up. I've heard every cover of it and it still tugs at the heartstrings. It being a jazz cover to boot? I feel like I'm in heaven. I had this game when I was 12 and it holds a special place in my heart. so so so nostalgic.

Another beautiful song from the GOATs of video game arrangements. (I also include Carlos Eiene and Patrick Bartley on that list.)
