"Just like a circle, I go back to where I'm from" - Death is as much a part of the human experience as life is and Mac knew it better than most. I don't think he wanted to die but he was infinitely aware of his potential to lose himself inside his darkness. This song and whole album really is an incredibly mature piece of art from someone reckoning with their own mortality. As the song reaches its peak, Mac is swept away, lost in the waves. I'm trying not to be sad about his passing anymore. This beautiful young man was a teacher for a lot of kids stuck in their own heads and a brilliant example of deepening your thoughts and appreciations of the world, all the while having a wry smile on your face about the whole thing. We should all take the time to learn from his craft and to put it into our own lives. Eventually we'll go under the waves too and we should strive to fill the world with as much beauty as he did in just 26 years. Goodbye Malcolm you beautiful soul. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Respec'. Just literally finished saying to myself, out loud, that I could probably learn to rap and improve writing of lyrics by studying his content. Reason & Ableton is my jam. Got the multiple instrumental thing goin on since I was 6. I just need to learn the song-writing, vocals-lessons on top of the simple vocal/tonal exercises, that am aware of would probably help uncover 'that instrument' locked away within too. I can usually listen to his music now with great appreciation versus sadness. Though its been a four month Mac Miller bender to process. Going back to all the old and re-witnessing the evolution of his music was important in that process for me personally. I usually just sit back with my telecaster and make new tones song after song. Working on my ear and fingering... that finger and button-pushing stuff is important apparently. I loved watching him release rhymes as I was learning production, then learning he was a multi instrumentalist; picturing us both switching craft to craft-night after night, hours on-end. Writing to playing to writing versus production to playing to production. Then listening to him learning to produce. Same idea, started at opposite ends of the path. Most Dope Fam.Like Aaron said, working to splice Mac's creative-light into your life and maybe learning an artform, upping your ante, etcetera, will ensure his life continues to serve its maximum purpose and intent long after his passing. He certainly didn't leave us with too little, definitely left too soon though. Much love, MOST DOPE..

Screw The Media I don’t think it’s a bad album at all. I’ve just been a fan since the K.I.D.S days. It’s way different and not the type of music I came to like with Mac. He makes great music no matter what, he’s a talented dude but it’s not as much rapping as it is r&b. I get the message, and it’s powerful. I respect that. But it’s not rap to me. Which isn’t a bad thing at all I’m just not used to it. Travis has much more of a rap approach than Mac. I think it’s much more feeling based than rap based. Travis does really well in his album and does much more rapping than Mac and that’s no debate. Which like I said, I’m not saying Mac had a bad album.. it’s great. Just not the type of music that I fell in love with 6 years ago.

Dirty feet - this means he hasn’t forgive himself or holds impurity. Many religious have feet washing ceremonies to cleanse your soul and let you know the community will support you so much the priest washes the feet of even he lowliest person. Also could mean he walked too much in life with out the protection for his feet. Lastly it can mean that you don’t have a secure foundation to walk on (no shoes and dirty feet) Sitting on the floor - he is dejected, sad, tired. Looking down. He has a view of the clouds but chooses not to look at it. Coffin with airplane window - he is at the top of his career and can see for ever but he is inside a coffin slouched down not even seeing the views The void - surrounded by white is like purgatory. The space between life and death, recovery and the dark place. I think it symbolizes his loneliness and wanting to transition to a happier place but trapped in the coffin. This is the second half of “self care” oblivion. He made it out but still struggling Pink suit - he has a huge heart and always put on a smile. Maybe he is dressed up and heart is in the right place but can’t figure out how to put all his clothes on and walk to the next part of his life. He said in the Lary King interview he was struggling to grow up and transition his identity moving from young adult to manhood. He is always wearing kids or or hip hop fashion, the suit is a universal symbol for “grown up world” but pink is fresh, youth, innocent Swimming - this is him making his own way and navigating on his own. If you have ever seen anyone drowning, it is hard to notice if you haven’t seen it before. It can look like they are totally fine until they go under. You can also drown in a shallow pool. Love this album so much, I’m so sad to know this talent is gone RIP MAC wish i meet you and tell you, you were my inspiration

I get sad listening to mac’s music but then get the feeling that he truly was one of those people who’s main soul mission was to touch people in ways that are indescribable- despite having his own demons himself and never seeming to overcome them, he did what he had to do and that was giving millions of people hope and love and so much more....god takes his strongest and best soldiers “too soon”.

Here after doing the laundry with the sun on my skin and this came out my random liked songs. Mac was my 2019 summer discovery on a time i was changing as a person, as the expression of this album was for him. Also here after reading Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughter House 5, which cointained rhe same "So It Goes" after every sad or remarkable war event that happened in the book. I jumped to "Once A Day" randomly and saw all the love shared, i love mac i love this fanbase and i love life as he all wanted us to do. This is great. We all should be happy he existed.

Towards the end of the track, “so it goes” begins to sound like “circles.” Once you hear it once, you can’t unhear it. It’s a perfect segue into his next album, fittingly called “Circles.” Thus the “Swimming in Circles” project that was posthumously completed. Genius

This song hits different, this while album hits different. It is so mature and beautiful, Mac unlocked some secret to life that no one else will be able to understand. Every single song on this album just stirs a different place in the bottom, deep, dark, untouched parts of your heart. Mac is my favorite artist of all time, i cant find any other artist on earth that i can truly understand, relate to and feel like Mac. I miss you bro, you are a legend forever, i wish i had the privilege of knowing about your amazing art before you died. Hope you are feeling that beautiful feeling in oblivion 💕

Everything about this album screams in my face that he is done now. From the cover to the lyrics to the beats. Everything tells me somehow, he wanted to tell everyone exactly what is in his mind now and say goodbye. I mean listen to Self Care and the accompanying video. Even clearer, I think he can not tell us. It's just a theory that only Mac could confirm, but I think he had a plan. I hope he has achieved with his music, what he tried to express to the people. It is heartbreaking that a person who creates such creative, clever, emotional and personal music, does not have the strength to protect himself from the worst. I mean there were always these musicians who managed to be more than just a hit in the charts. They characterize generations. They are part of one stage of your life or even accompany several stages with you and give you the feeling to know exactly what concerns you. Mac truely was such an musician. So for you Mac, Thank you for being such a formative part of my life and the matching tracks to it. Im really sad that you could not stay longer here with us. I think you had the key we are all looking for and through your music I was able to get my key. Rest in peace Mac
