This mirror frame is made in Macassar ebony veneer and brass. The frame is 32 x 42 inches and has build in cleat to easily hang on the wall. Available here Store: www.woodbytoth... www.woodbytoth.com
It wasn't my favorite piece you've done, until the brass was added. Then,, 👏 👏 . Beautiful...

Nice work. The brass inlay was nice. I was a picture framer for several years. Didn't hand build a lot of frames, but done several. Not done any veneering for frames.

@@WoodByToth I just assembled from from pre molded wood I ordered from a company to length. It was custom. I did print and photo mounts, mat cutting and shadow boxes. The few frames I've made have been just at home as a hobby. I did find a mat cutter so I could do mats here.

I have a hard time following how the tapped holes in the brass strip were made. They can't be any more than 1/4" thick. Kinda looks like they were drilled tap drill size, and then threaded by the screw. ???

My 2 cents: in principal, you drill a flat-bottomed hole and then thread using a bottoming tap. Just driving in the screw to an un-threaded hole in brass probably won't work well.

excellent work! I am a big lover of ebony woods! Have made a few replicas of antiques from ebony and can't get enough of 'em.

Great frame, Kyle. That was interesting how you held the brass in place. I was expecting epoxy. Todd is a great companion, isn't he? Bill

Todd is the best! I was thinking epoxy too but its a mess and would fall off in 10-15 years. Now I know it’ll never fall off
