Glad to see a KZitem educator digging into Maceo. He's inspired so many but seems to not get discussed much.

I love Maceo Parker. Life on planet groove is definitely my favorite CD. I saw him years ago in concert for $10. He came on stage at 11:30 pm and he played until 2:00am with no break. Just two and a half hours of pure funk. It was the best $10 I ever spent.

Yeah, I've seen him live a few times too. Pure beast-mode the whole time.

Hi Scott, what determines the notes played? What I mean is, why was it A you played after B? Was it random?

so is your overtone B and C @8:30 , just an overblown low B/C fingering?
@ScottPaddock

No, I'm using the overtone fingerings. So fingering the low note, and using my tongue and voice to produce the higher overtone. Check out my tutorials on overtones for more info.

Lol at the helicopter flying over your house statement. You know how BPD is; always messing up a good lesson with helicopter noise. Man, youre preaching the gospel sir. I gotta try this out when I play. For the longest time I've wondered why I suck as a player. So I approached the language and analyzing how lines work. Yes that has improved my play tremendously but I always felt something else was missing and BAM, you hit me with this. I guess this rabbit hole is bottomless huh? Keep pouring the knowledge sir. I admire the fact that you're willing to spread the knowledge to novice players such as myself. Keep up the great work.
