You will not believe it, but my exact same tacho (in blue though) arrived in the mail today. My CNC build is slowly coming together... Will watch this video with interest.

Yes they come in various colors, Just measure the tach signal output as long as its under 5v you can connect this directly to the BOB

I understand after watching your second video. Threading can be done when you have stable rpm. many thanks.

Awesome vid! I've been working on nearly an identical tach for my g0704 mill and I'm now thinking I need to feed my sensor with 12v, time to do some testing with the multi meter.

Similar setup should work fine for a Mill

Very useful. Can you tell me in which one AVI, GCM, 10V go the lines from the lathe tachometer. Thanks Dennis Anghelatos

You had me in a panic about the sensor, I just ordered sensors for my CNC (metal triggered) and they are the flush type but after a quick test they still work so it must not always be true.

Can you give some info on how to use data from tacho into mach3 for indexing used for threading. I have problem to use proximity sensor on mach3, it doesn't show up the correct number on mack3 S tacho. The sensor is working as index seen on diagnostic.

Make sure you have Spindle speed Averaging selected.

Is a single pulse like this enough for pid spindle speed control? I really need closed loop spindle speed control.

i did the identical setup.. the little chinese readout works perfect, but mach willl not take the signal..i tested all different voltages and pins. I really think 1 or more of my outputs are interfering , just got to figure out which one.

voltage to mach3 input needs to be 5v then drop to 2.5v once for every revolution.

@airgunningyup

@@darkobul1 no , never solved.. I simply figured that mach was set up to read when running db 25 cable , and since i was running usb , it just never worked.. Ive spoken to others who also never solved it .I spent a solid month testing every possible soultion , had 2-3 different sensors , etc etc . I switched oveer to acorn , everything works fine
