Beautiful truck, love the 29,000 rear axle. Wish I had a little dump trailer like that for around the yard. Be great for cleaning up, hauling scrap out, picking up a load of stone now and again. I don't do enough to justify a ten wheel or a triaxle.

I lived in Worcester back in the eighties and drove truck for a living. I use to see Worcester sand and gravel trucks all the time. Never saw one of their trucks that looked safe to be on the road. Don’t know if they were poor or if the owner just kept all the money and did minimal maintenance to keep the equipment running. A real ratty operation.

My dad drove for them the early 2010 years or so. Was making 16 an hour at the time and he drove their Dm800’s. I’ve sat in the truck he drove, she wasn’t pretty but from a far she did lol

THis was the predecessor to tri'axles.. I remember all the concrete & construction co's used this set up, as well as twin screws. My 1st job e had a Dodge CNT800 single with a dump trailer a little longer than that one, also had a twin screw Dodge as well as a Dodge Tri-axle.

Donald Bartram the owner sadly sold the truck not too long ago. I think a yr or so now. He sold the truck with the trailer. Hopefully it’s in good hands. I haven’t seen it since then.

It was an old Worcester Sand & Gravel I believe. They were a pain in the ass to back up though. LOL. Leverty & Hurley Asphalt, in Brpt Ct had this set up only they used WHITE trucks exclusively.

Beautiful Mack, I wish I owned it (the Trailer should be a single Axle)

There would be no reason to run a single axle trailer,, wouldn't be able to haul any more weight than on a 10 wheeler; like I said before tri'axle dumps came around these were what was used. but I think they were just carry overs from the 50's into the late 60's early 70's didn't see them much after that. Down here in FL they run single tractors with tandem axle trailers on a stretch neck frame .

Not sure, but possibly. Melone And Sons own this truck. It was when they had length laws at the time.

He was actually. Danny Melone I believe his name is. Heard of him, met him a couple times but nothing long but he was already slowing down driving because of his knees. He ended up selling her or putting her up for sale a year after this show. He was asking 80k for the truck and dump trailer. I know he sold it and think she went to Maine to a collector now. She did get repainted I believe and still has the owners name on her.

I use to live near Worcester sand and gravel back in the 80s. Never had any interest in driving for them. Their trucks were death traps, all of them.

Half of those trucks from back then are still running today. I still seem then hauling around the Worc area
