He doesn’t address headphone jack. Do you toggle speaker/headphones with the button on front, or does plugging in the headphones defeat the speakers automatically?
@fayzereviews

Hey! I apologize for that - plugging something into the headphone Jack automatically switches the output to the headphones. Thanks for watching!

Very helpful review. I'd offer that it would be more helpful still to show the speakers on the desk with a keyboard & monitor to provide a more intuitive sense of the speaker size.

Bought these and they definitely lack clarity for watching tv or movies that is needed for dialog. Also wasn't super impressed with the output volume, compared to a smaller bluetooth speaker or my TVs built in speakers, as it's just slightly louder, albeit with more bass, but the lack of clarity for voices is a hinderance for me. That being said, I got them on a deal from musiciansfriend for $50 and I am going to keep them, as they do seem to beat your average PC speakers in most cases. I would not however pay retail for them.

I've been looking for single driver sets because they make interesting promises, althought with their own sets of caveats, and boy do these fit the bill quite well. They're also sealed, and incredibly compact, so possibly they might have a more natural sound compared to a large majority of speakers overall while maintaing a small size. I will mention however, that there's a slight muddy or veiled nature to the speakers that I could hear on the recording, but as you said, a video demo can't compare to listening to them live. And about that adjustability of the speakers direction, yeah, that's definitely something that they missed out on, wish they had it, or at least, have it at an angle where it's parallel to the desk, so that it could be placed on a stand to allow an on axis listening experience. Although, this makes me wonder, what could someone do with these 3.5 inch BMRs if they had a larger enclosure..........possibly even with a bass reflex cabinet or passive radiators(there's the Drop BMR1's, which are cheaper than the Mackie's by 50 bucks, but it having dual passive radiators and a smaller driven driver basically reinforces the fact that bass is mainly reproduced by the passive radiator, but I'm looking more at bookshelf speaker sized single BMR's for a point source sound, unless that goal were to be discarded, then maybe a pair stacked on top of one another with a front firing bass reflex). Another application could be for portable speakers, something small paired with a BMR and a rear passive radiator could likely deliver impressive performance for it's size(then again, the BMR's main highlight is it's good off axis performance and upper frequency extension, not bass extension or max SPL that most portable speakers would be looking for).

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask, have you done any measurmenets for these? And do you have an ide what's the sensitivity of these, and if their 60W peak is per speaker, or if it's for their overall power rating?

I have these,they are definitely under rated,they are amazing. People basically put these speakers in bigger enclosures and sell them.4 big bucks...they not overly loud but ther sharp and unique sound is why I have 2 pairs.. I bet if I hook them.both up simultaneously they will sound like a pair of 8inch speakers.. maybe better.. the lows are pretty going to naked you think much bigger speaker then it is..❤them 5/5...a bigger nit smaller model would be great..this speaker type in 8 inch.. o.m.g.. that would definitely fill up a large room w ease.

I want to be able to move around and carry these things on planes along with my Journey Instruments guitar with the detachable neck which I'm well impressed with! Would you recommend these or do you know of something better? Thanks so much for this video!

It’s just going to depend on your preferences! I think they have plenty of bass for the day-to-day work that I do in my office, but if I was looking to listen to EDM and hip-hop all day I may add the sub for the extra oomph. Thanks for watching!

hey ! I'm looking for new speakers for my desk (gaming/music) I currently have the Mackie CR4 but they are old and begin to have some sound problem. I'm hesitating between their Stealthbar (or CR2-X Bar Pro) or between these CR2-X. Which one would you recommand me ? Thanks ^^

Recently Musician's Friend had the Mackie CRX-2 powered speakers on sale for $50 (reg. $179) a pair. I bought two pairs to experiment with for audio installations. They seem decent enough for their size and price but both are exhibiting a very inconvenient flaw. When playing music through them from my MacBook Air, even a moderate volume pop ballad, the sound completely cuts out when I try to get any decent volume level from them. It's like an overload protection kicking in way too early. Lights are still on, but no sound. Anyone else have these and seeing a similar problem, and maybe have a work-around? There's a firmware update available on the Mackie site but it can only be run from a PC, (I'm currently all Mac) and there is no indication what if any issues it addresses. Anyone know?

have you tried plugging in a subwoofer to the speakers, i read reviews saying that it doesn't distort as much when a sub is attached. Maybe it is to prevent the drivers from damage at high volume with bass, but when the sub takes that job it can run at a higher volume
@ChrisStack

@@YoshinoYorita-mv6in Yes, I have. The problem is not distortion. The problem is that it completely cuts off.
