They are on the right track. I want these companies to come out with 12" speakers that can easily be a main and battery powered. To go wireless and eliminate having to run a power cable on a 128+ DB speaker rated at 600+ watts RMS would be a game changer. I wouldn't buy this for wedding ceremonies or cocktail hours because I don't need a 12" Woofer for those situations. My Bose S1 Pros handle those situations just fine.

For whatever the reason, no matter where i read the specs on the 12 go I cannot find out whether or not they're using a lithium battery or a lead acid-sealed battery, the difference is very important, do you know what's inside that battery housing?

I would consider this speaker for cocktail hour in a separate room.

Hi! Mackie Thrash212 GO vs Everse 8 - which is better in terms of sound quality?

I haven't used the Everse 8, but I would guess that EV has better outright sound quality. Mackie seems to have better features, EV has better sound.

Could these work well as a party speaker (w/o a sub) or would someone be better off with a dedicated party speaker (JBL 310, etc.)?

Is it comparable or louder/quieter than a Soundboks?

The SoundBoks is rated at 126SPL and the Thrash 2i2 Go is rated at 125SPL, but I would prefer to have the Mackie.

@kettnercreative the Soundboks is actually pretty impressive if you get to know the speaker and app. It actually has a mixer built-in and EQ. The Soundboks speaker sounds like you are running a sub with it compare to the Mackie . The price is a different situation. LOL but I have used the Soundboks 3s for at gigs before and I got a lot of compliments on the sound. So that being said I do agree that the Mackie is a great budget speakers I can't say I would rather have the Mackie thrash over the Soundboks.

The soundboks 3 is louder and fuller than the Everse 8. And I don't look at watts on any speaker. My JBL PRX1'S say 2000 watts each speaker and my Bose F1s say 1000 watts each speaker but my Bose F1s get about 30% louder. But that being Said the Everse 8 is a great ceremony speaker and if you put a couple of them with a sub you would have a nice compact PA that could do 75 to mabe 100 people. I think this is one of the best speakers EV has.

EV and JBL both have battery options as well. At this time, they're mostly adding it to their "entry level" speakers though. I think this makes sense with the types of events you would use a battery powered speaker.

@@kettnercreative I bought this thinking it will outperform my EV’s in output. It’s not loud enough to justify its size and weight compared to the everse. I think this speaker is kinda late to the market since everyone pretty much has a battery powered speaker and nobody wants to downgrade to this speaker. We need a solid premium battery speaker that could compete with powered pa speakers.

@@Elniniss How is / was the bass output compared to the Everse 8? 9kgs more weight for the Thrash 212 Go is a lot.

@@Elninisstrue, nothing can beat the Everse 8 at the price point, gonna leave the JBL Eon One MK2 outta this bc it is outside the price range, and would be an unfair take
