Im shocked at the level of intolerance and lack of respect for others in this interview. The girl in the headscarf was barely allowed to speak although the whole interview was revolving around what’s SHES WEARING and when she did finally try to speak she was shutdown by the women who claim to be a defender of women’s rights! How can you call yourself democratic when you don’t allow women to choose what to wear and not to wear just because they’re muslims? Its THEIR CHOICE not yours or anyone else for that matter. There are Muslim women who don’t wear it in Muslim country’s because that’s THEIR CHOICE not the state or the media or any other man or woman and politicians. You’re contradicting yourselves when you say there’s a separation of church and state in France and then make a religious dress a political issue that is decided by politicians instead of the people it concerns.

Or people who immigrated years ago from Europe. Covering the whole body or showing more skin shouldn't be a matter of debate. Just know that wearing hijab is a part of Islam and Islam is a lifestyle. No one should be forced to chance their lifestyle. Otherwise the term "freedom" will be meaningless. Anyone who searches about Islam will easily understand that ISIS has no connection with Islam. When I was in France, I beared the noises of parties made by neighbors, never complained. Because I know, FRANCE is the home of French people, I should follow their life styles, habits and social norms no matter if I like or not. As Salaamu Alaikum, I love my hijab. Why would French government be so prejudice and the world watches. Certainly, this is absurd. They speak about controlling Faith's and triumph on transformation with religion, yet what freedom lives in their democracy. People should be allowed to choose. I am Muslim. I cause no harm to others. I live according to my beliefs. I don't drink, I don't smoke, gamble, neither do I party or enjoy loud music. I enjoy nature, eating healthy and limiting myself to technology. All Praise to the One who created us, sound mind. Yet France, dictates the way people live. I visited France and the most helpful people living there was Muslim male and female. Yet, I would not travel to France for my Hijab / scarf completes me. Besides, my hair is my privacy and on the upside the scarf/hijab keeps my head neat. Yet, when I wear it, I am reminded to practice a good lifestyle, to care for others, to not be vulgar and vile and to strive and live in peace with all people. The Muslim gentleman is trying so hard to bring across that the Muslim woman does not have to loose her rights for wearing a scarf. The gentleman of French government, forget the atrocities that was committed in time of colonism and never apologized for all the terrorists attacks committed in the past. I felt like she is too young to participate in such heated conversations. They should have brought someone more mature and have more experience with politics in Europe.

She was not afraid at all, she just wants to speak softly, although she is young she held her own. Even though I didn’t like what she did, gaslighting and misdirecting (the young guy did the same), overall I think she did well.
