Watching it a little bit again. Nice play thru explanations. not a bad idea to cut the tile stack in half. otherwise I place the objective tile at 9 instead of shuffling 9-12 or whatever the quantity is. @14:50 then 18: 40 Yes the trap card should trigger aka activate in the order it's drawn so therefore there would be no advantage to the monsters you drew prior to it. If there were a monsters in the card queue after that trap then they gain the benefit of the trap. however it's more interesting the way you played it by activating it out of turn.

With whirlwind slash I think you only role the die once because you are spinning in one fell swoop so the die outcome is then applied to all adjacent monsters accordingly ...

The encounter cards are the first thing in villian faze. Following that. The traps actually take priority following monsters. At least thats how i was taught and everybody i know that plays.

Regarding Psychic Swarm Kevin the designer confirmed on BGG that they only activate once even if you have all 3 cards. If there was another player and he had 1 of the cards, on his turn they all would activate again. So basically they all activate only ONCE per player.

These games seem to have gotten a lot more punishing from Temple of Elemental Evil onwards. I only have the first three and from watching videos on the later three the boards seem a lot tougher with multiple monsters spawning and Traps everywhere.

Are you sure monsters are allowed to attack over tiles? Cause the cards say "within" tile, So first move should be to move the monster into the same tile as the hero.

From the official Errata Q: Can two figures be adjacent if on different tiles? A: Yes. Adjacency refers to be being in an adjacent square (unless otherwise noted). That means a figure on tile A can be adjacent to a figure on tile B if their squares are adjacent to each other (not via a diagonal or with a wall). boardgamegeek.com/filepage/180409/official-erratafaq-v1# Online version here www.dropbox.com/s/v2hqglyn9n4bvwo/DoMM_Errata_and_FAQ%20v1.pdf?dl=0

Unless the rules have changed, you made a mistake on your first attack. You had three monsters around you and you used Whirlwind Attack. You rolled a 19, that should have been your only roll and hit each adjacent monster for one damage. Unless the card says to make another attack, you only roll once even if that attack affects more than one monster. I just started watching so maybe other mistakes were made, easy to do on any play-through! I'm rather disappointed with this latest in the series. There are so many mistakes on the cards and the rulebook. I haven't played Temple of EE or Tomb of Annihilation but I own all the others. It's really fun to mix and match characters, monsters, and cards when thematically correct. Legend of Drizzt is my favorite but I enjoy the others as well. Good video, thank you!

Thanks for the comment Tempest Fury. I only have this and Castle Ravenloft, so I really appreciate the upgrade in art and gameplay, but I agree with your points on mistakes. That's kind of crazy to me. I mean with so many games, they have a template. It can't be that hard to double check things. I hate having to get out a sharpie to write on the cards. Oh well, the game is fun. For readers, the attack Tempest is talking about is at 11 minutes and 57 seconds and after, kzitem.info/news/bejne/km531XxqqpiklHo&lc=z23dfzpjkwvgjbth204t1aokgfvsrjwegz3rp45bw5xprk0h00410&t=11m57s I rolled the die three times, because the rules on page 10 say, "For each enemy a Hero's power or a Monster's attack targets, roll the die and add the attack bonus." Since it says for each enemy targeted, rather than for each attack, I believe I'm doing this correctly. My Castle Ravenloft rules say the same thing. I'm not sure if mine might be a reprint where the rules have changed, or if rules are different in other games, since I don't have them. Enjoy playing the games!

LightRanger Games you played it correctly, just because you are swinging your sword around doesn’t mean you’ll hit everything so a roll per enemy makes thematic sense and it’s exactly how the rule book reads as you stated above. The op way of interpreting the rule is making the game easier!

¿ When the scenario instructions say to "add / remove" certain cards to / from the decks, which are the starting base cards?
@lightrangergames9354

The starting cards are numbered 1-184 and have a white Mad Mage icon in the lower right. The advanced cards have a gold Mad Mage icon, in the lower right, and are numbered 185-228. See "Campaign Play & The Advanced Deck", on page 3 of the rule book.
