It's one of the best action movie of the past 20 years with the perfect blend of practical effects and CGI making each action pieces perfect...When you think about it, the story is very ordinary, it's a pursuit with enslaved women on board, a message about human trafficking and they essentially make a loop to come back where they come from...Not very high level storytelling, but everything around is mastered so much to perfection, it takes the movie to a next level !! Immortant Joe was played by the same actor who played the toe cutter in the original Mad Max he gor two iconic villain roles and two brutal deaths from the same franchise. It's important to remember these films are legends told around the campfires by survivors long afterwards and Max is the mythical wandering hero so inconsistencies between films are not important ( his famous V8 interceptor has been destroyed at least twice) and as a mythical hero he survives the impossible.

You need to watch the Mad Max Trilogy with Mel Gibson. You understand why it is one big car chase.

The spiked 'Buzzard' vehicles were an homage to another, crazier Australian cult film called 'The Cars That Ate Paris' (AKA 'Cars That Eat People') which is known for a silver VW Beetle covered in spikes. The animal growling sounds from the Buzzard excavator truck are also taken from that film.

This film DID ease you into this... with 3 prior movies. And its not "mad" as in angry... it's "mad" as in crazy.

Some of the best films are simple story’s. Place people in extreme situations and tell the story of them over coming it. Those are the best films and this is an amazing film.

I like this movie not for it's direction or acting and fanservice, but because of the message it delivers. Even though most think it's heavily feminist (evil oppressive patriarchy and all that), it's the man the one who makes the ultimate sacrifice, multiple times, to save the...strong but not strong enough women. It's so perfectly balanced in my opinion that i wish most pro-feminist movies were like that. You know, don't just hate men but appreciate the ones who will give their lives for not just women but the weak in general. It's also a nice commentary on the madness of greed, warmongering and blind fanaticism towards cults and ideologies, wich is pretty much the theme nowadays, and how DOOMED the population that doesn't have the guts to revolt is, against oppressors.
