The early scene wasnt sped up, its frame rate was lowered but the individual frames multiplied. It gives a studdeing effect similar to early stopmotion fx

this movie isn't actually a reboot. George miller said himself this is a continuation of the story, just a different actor as Max. But each film is like a folklore tale of Max so continuity doesn't matter that much. And the flashbacks he gets isn't his family its another group he encountered, which is from the Mad Max comics.

The reason why the economy is important is because it expands on the values that are important in the apocalypse. The whole point is that everything is a commodity in a world like this and the whole history man thing and search for hope is the idea that people are attempting to recreate a stable society with quality of life, culture, art, education, etc. You need to demonstrate how badly society is when the plot is about looking for hope. Mad Max is supposed to be one of the first 'Myths' from this new society (also why focus is put on the new vocab in this world), Mad max is a founding character in this myth that wanders the wasteland attempting to improve the lives of others despite his haunted past. He represents the hope that can be found in terrible situations or even in spite of terrible situations. So he might not be a single person or some of the stories might be fake but that's kinda the point. The first history man is the first person attempting to codify this mythology and the first thing he covers is this attempt to create a world out of ashes in the character of mad max, thats the quote at the end. "Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search of our better selves.” -The First History of Man. This attempt at creating a society and culture out of the ashes of the old world/past is a major theme, "When the world fell they burned the books, leaving nothing but a random collection of Wordburgers. We History Men and Women preserve these stories” - History Man

i believe thats a plasma storm, very much like the one that covers the entire planet of mars every few years, which lasts for a year which is why we will never colonize the surface haha and underground ones would be cut off for a year at a time... @@chrism7395 i think i used the wrong word, i meant electromagnetic storms? which are in fact dust storms, but also cause a certain type of electricity, the 2 factors means any structures on the surface will have to fight off the erosion caused by the worse sand blasting ever seen and the electric strikes are really nasty too, i forgett the exacteffect, i want to say it turns electronics off but dont hold me to that. outside of this storm the surface has to also defend against acid storms and other cosmic radiations...

Setting up the trade economy between the different fortresses of the wasteland is what gives Furiosa a reason to escape with the wives in the first place. Without the citadel trading their goods for guzzolene and bullets, there would be no reason for Furiosa to drive the war rig to Gastown in the first place.

18:35 The BEST part about this gotcha moment is that they ACTUALLY did this stunt, so they had to think of a practical way to have the supercharger not get a bunch of sand in it. Everything was thought of with this big rig. Oh yeah, and they made 3 copies of it.

SHINY AND CHROME!! WITNESS MEEEE!! If you ever think you are cool enough for your own theme music, you have to ask yourself.... Are you cool enough for your own theme music played by a live band on a war rig? I have driven in dust storms in iraq saudi arabia and kuwait.... You can get severe lightning with that many sand particles in the air. That is also where the term Haboob comes from. Saharan africa through the middle east.

Why would you pass on the original? It's the best Max movie. A true classic. One of Mel's first films. It has great stunts, a great story and great characters. The whole script is almost quote worthy. And those V8s! The toe cutter, the nightrider, Bubba Zanetti, Kundalini, Johnny the Boy, Goose, Max and the rest of the cast. It's like saying, watch Rambo, but not First Blood, or watch Rocky 2 without watching Rocky. Ridiculous!
