Madam Walker was an amazing woman! She organized her scalp care business a bit like Avon, sending ladies door to door to help women diagnose and treat their hair, skin, and learn styling. Truly an American Dream story of rags to riches.

Here in Canada we have Viola Desmond, who ran the Desmond School of Beauty Culture, and refused to sit in the back row of a Nova Scotian theatre. She now appears on the Canadian ten dollar bill and I am so proud of this. Maybe she was inspired by CJ Walker...

It would be worth a lot more now, as they made her life into a movie - Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker

Her response was so endearing. A millionaire in that era is certainly even more remarkable of an achievement than being a millionaire today is. Googling it, $1.00 in 1900 is the equivalent of $34 today...

It doesn't push the narrative of intersectionality common to government schools that being poor, non-white, female, descended from slaves, etc. makes someone disadvantaged, and therefore they need assistance just to attain average. Instead, they want young, black women to believe they need to depend on the government for everything.

Before she went on the show she should have educated herself about Madam C.J. Walker as much as possible. I've seen a couple of documentaries on tv and here on youtube. She could have also gone to the library if necessary and these days you can easily look at hundreds online. The internet makes it super easy to learn billions of things so I say to her and people like her there is no excuse for not educating yourself today. These days it's too easy to learn things you want to know and don't care to know thanks to the internet. No excuse for not being educated people! GOOGLE IT! LOL
