Another Madstad fan here, have had many of them. At 6 feet 2 inches, 33 inseam, I have the 18" version, just like this one, I ended up cutting it 2 inches. I have a 20 inch on order. What I find is that this bike is near impossible to get clean air at top of Shoei Neotec 2. This screen, cut 2" with an Amazon screen extension, 5 x 14 inches, works pretty good up to 60 mph and lower . My experimenting tells me it is not possible to get clean air all around helmet without looking thru screen at 65mph and up. I am hoping the 20 inch will be tall enuf to quiet it down at speed. I also tried a large calsci and that worked pretty good, but also had to add an extension on top to quiet down the rumbling, even with ear plugs. I suspect the large openings around forks are messing with the air stream. Thanks DD for putting up this review. I think Madstad is a great company, and this bike is a real challenge!

I agree. Even at my 6' tall, the air is not perfectly still around the top of my helmet. Fortunately, all the misery of wearing the XD4 is gone. I'll take that as success.

How is the 20? Did it help with the last part ?

Hey there, I’m wondering after having it for a few weeks, if you still think the 14” version is big enough? How much of an improvement did you get over the stock one with a clip on deflector? Thanks for the help! Update: just got mine installed and I’m riding 80mph with my visor up and no earplugs. ‘Nuff said!

I am still very impressed with the screen and just how well it works for me. My 890 is my dirt bike, but the screen makes it so relaxed on long distance riding. No more getting beat-up by wind at higher speeds. Sturdy enough that it stays in place on washboarded out dirt roads. Haven't done any jumping, so can't say how it handles hard landings, but for regular dirt riding I don't even bother to lower it. Still looking over it enough to handle anything I'm doing. I'm completely satisfied with the screen. I do miss my old Vanasch GPS mount. It cannot be used with the screen. I've come up with a way to make the crossbar work as a mounting base. It's acceptable, but not ideal.

@@englishjr right on! Thanks for the info. I’m not too worried about jumping. I’ve got a 350 for that kind of riding 😜

So the website shows options from 14” to 20”. Which one did you go with?

Madstad said it was the shorter one. I believe that makes it the 14".
