@@NonisLuck not that I have any conductor experience and really only have junior high band experience which was 20ish years ago but imagine taking 20+ people and telling them to count to 30 in their head. everyone would quickly get out of sync. when I was in band we would tap our feet in rhythm with the conductor and that would keep the band in sync with each other.
@icetang97
3 ай бұрын
@@NonisLuckconductors are like an artist, while well trained instrumentalists/vocalists are the paints, and the sheet music is a painting the conductor uses as a reference (how closely they follow the reference is up to the conductor). The conductor brings a level of cohesion to the performance. They set the tempo and energy. Some instruments may stick out too much normally, while others may be too quiet. Heck that could even be what the music calls for! However, the conductor has the final say; ‘brass, this section needs to be softer.’ ‘Strings, the music says to connect these notes together, but I want staccato.’ At early learning levels, conductors are there to mostly help the band to only keep rhythm, but as the conductor and the players become more experienced, that’s when it basically becomes a megazord of music! With the conductor as the head. Hope that answers your question! I love music, and I really appreciate good conductors.

16:40 Crescendo and decrescendo don't mean high and low notes. They are the path to louder (forte) notes, and softer (piano) notes. With fortissimo being the loudest, and pianissimo being the quietest. Usually in a sheet they are marked by a line going up or down, depending on where the music goes, but they can happen insantly, which is indicated by the corresponding lettter(s), which can usually be also found at the start of each part of the music, indicating it's loudness. But they aren't required most of the time. pp pianissimo, p piano, mp mezzopiano, mf mezzoforte, f forte, ff fortissimo (from quietest to loudest)

there is such a thing as forte fortissimo and piano pianissimo (fff and ppp respectively) which mean as loud and or as quiet as possible with a solid tone(fff with an accent is crazy on the trombone), as well as some other special dynamics that I'm curios to how the game will pull off like fmp which means land on the note at forte and then fall to mezzopiano. just wanted to add on a little extra info!

I'm impressed how much personality they put into this early alpha, it could've just been a tutorial and a few songs, they didn't need voice acting at all (but it makes a difference). I also enjoyed the 'royalty free' version of Swing Swing, that first Jazz song which was just a very slightly modified version of a real song Also, as a drummer I liked how quickly it 'tricked' you into doing independent limb movements, and almost all of it seems basically synonymous with drumming, all about timing and limb independence This looks really fun

Suddenly it just elevates everything. Notice how you would probably never listen to that last song before, but you were really getting into it when you were in the driver's seat ;3

Admit it, Wolf. You've done some conducting before, at least in music lessons in school. The way you kind of naturally beat a 4/4 pattern when only asked to hit the accents gives it away. ;-) And yes, conducting a real orchestra (well) is extremely hard. And it's usually not about just keeping a tempo and giving musical cues, but mostly about very precise hearing during rehearsal and getting the musicians to perform the piece as you want in the actual concert. Luckily, in this app, the musicians actually play fairly flawlessly already, so you're simply conducting the most amazing orchestra in the world. A virtual one.

Finding only conductors is hard because all classical composers learn to conduct but as a profession those are held by the few professionals cuz they are stationary jobs like 20+ years. Two famous conductors are Leonard Bernstein and Gustavo Dudamel.

Conducting your hand is almost always in 4/4 which starts on a down stroke, then a swing to the left at the middle of your compass esk imaginary chart, then swing to the right, and then to the top and then back to the bottom. The bottom, left, right, and the up refers to the 4 notes in a measure. If you hear that background beat, everytime it sounds it usually going to be the 1st beat of the measure. You know it's the first beat because you don't need 4 beats when the musicians already are more focused on their music at that point, and just need markings as to when the 1st measure is. You are counting consistently the entire time to follow the conductor. Music can happen without a conductor though I imagine it will start to loose both tempo (the speed in which you are playing at consistently and unchanging until you are required to change), and rhythm and togetherness of the band. Often times, a composer conducts so that people in the back play at the same time, since sound will have a travel length, and you may hear the front instruments slightly after the beat 1 motion (beginning of a mesure) of the conductor, so when the back of the orchestra tries to match up with the front, WITHOUT a conductor, the front will hear the them playing late. The audience however hears everything at the same time because of their much further distance away; much like how Mercury orbits the sun slightly faster than Venus, but Neptune will be infinitely slower and wouldn't have any correlation to speeds that both seem the same to it. Conductors will call all four of those beats because it's easy for them to do and doesn't disturpt the music. It is a silent metronome, and a metronome is the constant 4 beat ticks in a measure, where you can start on any tick and then count from there. Music is pure art that people think is really easy and can just hop into at any time. No.

The full game, when it releases, will be called "Maestro" and will be available for Quest and on Steam (didn't look for other options). Steam has another game that is released called "Maestro VR" which is fairly different from what you've shown.
