This is not the usual stuff on this channel, but that doesn't mean I don't feature now and then something that is totally outside of my niche/preference, if it's worth featuring and I did enjoy it regardless.
I avoided Magic Mike movies like a plague - it's for sissies and hoes, right? Right!
But it's still entertaining movie for the rest of us - to see master chad in his office.
I was kind of forced to watch this one recently - the first Magic Mike (2012), but to my surprise,
I did actually enjoyed it. Especially the parts with Channing and OG master chad Matthew McConaughey - thus, I included him at least for the introduction.
I enjoyed it well enough, to immediately seek out the second movie - Magic Mike XXL (2015), and the subsequent - Magic Mike's Last Dance (2023) [dang! who can believe Salma was 52y old in there? The female version of Frank Grillo?]
The second movie having the best "dancing" choreography IMHO.
(Man, I got to admit I see now how Johnny Depp got sucked into the marriage trap, and Will Smith - but at least Johnny wasn't cuck about it - shame on you Will)
Now, the only reason I got persuaded to watch it in the first place was Channing Tatum.
Although not my favourite actor, but knew him well enough from other proper dancing movies back in the day (also forced to watch) like Step Up (2006), and Step Up 2: The Streets (2008) - where he absolutely shined and made it enjoyable watch,
But also from more my kinda movies - Public Enemies (2009), G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009), The Egle (2011) - one of my favourite Roman movies if not second best after Gladiator (2000), Haywire (2011) - the most convincing female vs male combat scenes, G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013), White House Down (2013), The Hateful Eight (2015), Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017) - all of which I have enjoyed.
Did watch some of the Jump Street movies, and more recently The Lost City (2022), but i haven't actually finished watching those - I'm not big on comedies, has to be super good - like Hangover (2009).
Either way, with every new movie coming out witch Channing Tatum in it, I do look forward to the next one more and more as time passes. He slowly grew on me, and earned my respect through his art - dancing and acting.
Since doing my research on him for this video, it turns out that the first Magic Mike movie was almost autobiography (the Hollywood version) - meaning he did work multiple jobs at the same time before his break in Ricky Martin - She Bangs (2000) song:
construction work, bartending and stripper,
but it took 6 more years of doing commercials and smaller TV show roles and cameos before his first big role in Step Up (2006).
Self-made man and very humble. One of his quotes when being told that People magazine voted him the 2012 Sexiest Man Alive - "Y'all are messin' with me."
On his career in 2009 - "I got crazy lucky. Like sometimes, I think I won the lottery or something. At times, it feels like the bottom's gonna fall out. Just 'cause I don't really know how I got here. But I just keep moving forward, and it just keeps getting better and better."
About male stripping - "Men go to strip clubs for a pretty simple reason. It's a carnal, visual thing. The point of male stripping is to bring women onstage and embarrass them so their friends can cheer them on. Women go to watch their friends' faces turn red and to have a night of camaraderie with their girlfriends.
The more you try to look sexy, the lamer it is, so you just have to commit to the comedy."
Definitely not among best actors in Hollywood (not a bad one though), but definitely the best dancer that can capture the attention and earn admiration of hardcore gore, action, scifi, historical and horror movies lover like myself.
I wish him many more successful years on the screen!
P.S. All the "levels of seduction" thing is a satire on my part - before somebody gets but hurt.
I never claimed to be a comedian.
