Josephine is amazing and the huge amount of material she puts out (for free!) through Quareia makes her one of the most important occult voices around today. Sadly, as she tells people they need to roll their sleeves up and do the bloody work she doesn't seem to get the wider attention she deserves compared to those who like to tell you that magic doesn't really require all that much effort or application at all. Thanks for the video FF, take care.

I feel like she doesn't get as much "attention" because she's the type of teacher that a student truly has to be ready for, before she is revealed to them.

Personally I find Josephine's greatest contribution is her humanity and the ethics of magic. This book appears to be a natural continuation of these contributions. I so often reproach myself for not following her Quareia course, but I have chosen my path, nevertheless I can feel Josphine's guidance whereever I stray.

As someone not into all ceremonial magic and Abrahamic stuff this book is very pagan friendly. So glad I found a Josephine M book I can really relate to. There is a practice in the book aimed at healing the land in the aftermath of man made environment disasters A number of trees in a very magical landscape near my home were recently wantonly cut down by an over zealous farmer. It genuinely felt like a massacre. Over a number of weeks I performed the ritual and it genuinely brought some measure peace to the area. Truly great book.

Arthur Scargill wrote that J. McCarthy is the kind of teacher one can only have when is truly ready for it. FF wrote that she is a key piece to the history of magic in our time. I couldn’t agree more! I got very impressed after I read Magic of The North Gate and after that I realized that everything that J. McCarthy publishes is gold and needs to be considered very carefully and thoughtfully. Thanks for yet another great video, pal! PAX

As always a great review brother.... Love the book but I must say that if you have any eye sight issues at all go with the Kindle. I purchased the title in hardcover and had to end up buying the kindle just to read it comfortably. I really wish that publishers would stop worrying about saving the cost of 25 extra pages in publishing...which is about $1.50 extra in actual cost per book and produce a title that is clearly readable by the vast majority of readers and practitioners. This is in no way the author's issue as the books contents are incredible and is a worthy edition to any occult library. This is completely just the publisher trying to save some money on an already cheaply produced print on demand book.

Thanks for the feedback Miskatonic - the font size wasn't to save money, our formatter had been experimenting with different sized fonts after a few people complained a previous book had too large a font. Your feedback is really helpful and we will make sure we do not use that size font again. We use print on demand so we can make books affordable, and so that we can also afford to produce them for readers outside of the UK (thanks to Brexit). We don't always get it right, but we keep trying, and feedback like yours is really helpful to us, thanks!

Can you do a review for the book The Celtic Golden Dawn by Michael Greer? I feel that the book would help tons of people get into golden dawn styled magick, but it stays away from the judeo christian names and symbols and uses celtic pagan powers and symbols, while also being a self initiative curriculum book to take us from noob to master magician. I have yet to find any review on this book, and I feel like that's a huge miss out for people. Also, great content as always. You have helped me in many ways than one with your channel, so thanks for the great content.

Hi, Foolish Fish, I’ve been following your channel since late 2020 i think and i want to thank you for all your effort by sharing all these materials (books and paraphernalia). About Josephine’s work I would really appreciate your standpoints in regards to the LBRP. I’m training Quareia and I would really like to know yours and other practitioners’ standpoints around that topic. On my path I’ve found lots of magical training resources, most of them stemming from the Golden Dawn tradition, which i respect but has never really resonated within me (thus I’ve never trained on those systems), then I stumbled upon Josephine McCarthy’s work i felt an instant connection, something resonated within me, a voice saying "this is it, what you’ve asked for". I was (and still am) in awe of the sheer amount of work she has made available for free and how well organized everything is (lots of lessons, encompassing divination, tools, energy work, ritual, visualization and so on)… My question comes from what i see as a very important practice for people working on Golden Dawn system (and all its offspring i.e. the lodges coming afterwards), all those folks sharing their practice here and elsewhere seem to use it as a main practice and some of them, like yourself have also struggled to find out "the right elemental/directional correspondences just to make sense of that particular practice, and all that seem (to me) a little bit "packed in a box", almost contrary to what Josephine always suggests (she literally says "LBRP is something that only banishes the magician’s sanity in the first place), I don’t quite get why is so important in your and others’ practice (since i don’t really use it and have never practiced it). For what i understand is almost like a constant cleansing, which in fact creates an "antiseptic" spiritual environment and restricts the magician’s sensitivity and inner "immune system" (as if the magician lived in a sealed antiseptic chamber). I’ve seen your videos speculating on the "right" correspondences of it just to make that pattern work and i think a true magical lineage should not "disguise" that kind of information, i think the best filter for magic are the magician themselves, i mean: the contacted lineage share the information, the "know-hows" and the magician’s spiritual involvement, intent and discipline would bear their fruits on their own… So, why in the first place would they share something as a foundational practice of their system which don’t really work hands-on? I think that’s deceitful. Besides that, Josephine also talks about some lodges having systems extremely filtered, which only allows a very faint spiritual contact and never really reach deep inner contacts (i resonate with that), currently I’m walking ”The Lone Path" and i recognize is a very tricky thing: realizing one’s limitations, weaknesses, months of little or none work at all because not knowing wtf has happened in my life because of the practices I’m doing, figuring out through divination, struggling with discipline, experiencing energetic ups and downs, marching slowly, being extremely careful with every step, etc. (I know those difficulties are some of the main reasons people join a magical lodge or group). I would really enjoy reading some insights from you and anyone wanting to talk about it in a polite way in order to share and grow. May we bloom magically! 🌎🌸🌞 Greetings from Mexico City! ✌🏼🧙🏼♂️ Peace! 🕊
