Thank you again for the highlight of my week! Ooh la la, the lunch was something relish even from way over here, and all for only the price of a hideous Burgerville combo meal in America only the wealthiest Americans can now afford. Special thanks to Mr Boo for his trivia contributions, It's always interesting to dig a bit deeper into the them, and I could not help but imaging Pablo, Jacques Brel and Saddam chatting over stewed prunes and veal. I much enjoined discovering accounts of Jacques Brel and is sailing and flying adventures. When Mr. Boo mentioned Brel learning to fly, I imagined him popping around the coast in Cessna 150, but had an old Beechcraft Twin Bonanza, (A timeless icon of machismo in the private pilot world), he explored the world in. Fascinating as well, the stories of Brel sailing sailing yacht around the world in his bathrobe. My fondest appreciation to Mr. Boo for mentioning Jacques Brel's foray into the skies. I just found a delightful video bio that tell of his flying and sailing adventures, the story of his discovery, and something that's unique to many in the musical and theatrical trades that blends with aviation uniquely well, and perhaps Tim you might be inclined in a similar way as Jacques and not realize it. The story related by Jacques's friend of the first time he took the controls was a delight. as it was very similar to when my father let some of his Hollywood buddies who used to travel with him take the controls and they became hooked. kzitem.info/news/bejne/0Jl70Imln5p2f3o The bit about Brel's joy over flying people in need with his beloved old Twin-Bonanza, brought joy to my heart as well. My father had a"T-Bone" the same colors as Jacques's. The front seet set three-abreast, and the single control yoke had to be tossed-over for the copilot to use, with the the co-pilot setting hip-to-hip. Heartwarming to see the young Polynesian boy setting next to Jacques as he was likely given the chance to pilot as well, just as my father and I did: kzitem.info/news/bejne/0Jl70Imln5p2f3o So many places that are home to interesting people with inspiring and heartbreaking stories on the French Riviera, and we are fortunate to have you to bring them to us.

I think as I added a link to my comment, it didn't go through. Such an appealing insight into Mougins. Your trips and comments are far more fun than any tourist guide. I had a thought re. your overly hot Ami. I always associate the term 'wrap' with an external covering on a car, which really wouldn't suit your needs. There are a few companies that sell films for house windows that provide UV filters, tints, or complete obscuration. These are placed inside and DIY. The company I used was The Window Film Company in the UK. Hope this helps. Can't wait to see how you're getting on with the driving. Hugs to Twiggy.

Mr Boo wins the prize. He reveals that the expensive villas around Mougins surround a corpse village that still manages to serve star-rated food. Nearby villages are more attractive in profile than Mougins--such as Eze and Saint Paul de Vence. Surmounted by antennae Mougins' colossal water can dominates the village immodestly and threatens a deluge. Although Tim commends the painted facades I think each block could benefit from dolling up one or two with potted geraniums and a cat perched inside a window, but then someone would have to take care of such accessories and, well, is anybody living there at all?

Oh Mr Boo.. the look of relief when you finally landed at the carpark! I bet you were desperate to get your hands on that wheel. What is the music in this one? - it sounds very much Children's Hour - I was expecting Larry the Lamb, Dennis and Mr Grouser, any minute. The snail-like streets were another defensive measure. You missed one famous resident, the old post office that Mr Boo pointed out was the home of the well know painter and sculptor Roger Muhl, he was born in Strasbourg, Alsace but lived and painted in the south of France and Brittany, he died in 2008 and is buried in the local cemetery. If you return to Mougins village again, try the “Resto des Arts", we have known it for many years, the food was very traditional French bistro, but a few years ago the owner Gregory retired and the new young owner, who incidentally is a local, introduced a very individual style of french/African/Spanish fusion food. We were there a few weeks ago and were impressed, defiantly on our short list.
