Nah you should at least know Burkina Faso is a country, admittedly I did know the capital of Burkina Faso due to its oddity alone however I wouldn’t have a hope in hell in spelling it. However I’d imagine most semi-intelligent people would be aware of Burkina Faso’s existence and perhaps it’s flag 🇧🇫

Magnus remembers 10,000 of his games. His memory is a big part of why he can out calculate his opponents and dominate chess like he does. It is said that Magnus used to memorise geography, and things like capitals and GK in his free time when we was a kid. Probably because people with memory of his caliber need stimulation like that.

absolutly, otherwise they get bored and depressed. Every brain needs input to stay healthy, just like muscles need movement. This is why solitary confinement is absolute torture. It can cause permanent brain damage. Boredom is an abstract pain signal...you don't like it, so you avoid it because it's unhealthy to the brain.

I mean, come on, Magnus has bombarded himsel as kid with geographical knowledge and since he has an excellent memory, this geography quiz was very easy for him. Young kids that have a passion for a topic in these younger years, will never forget it later, because it's in the core of their brain.

Paints CAN smell diffirently based on the pigments and binders used. Most whites are used with natural pigments and most reds with sintetic and the binders correspond to that.

It takes about 2 hours to learn all the countries in the world, another 2 hours to learn their capital cities. It is pretty easy for average person to make people think that you are genius. (Carlsen of course is a real genius). I made a test one day. I was bored and I wanted to know how fast I can learn all USA's states and state capitals. 30min +30min.
