A sincere seeker of TRUTH sees three kinds of "I". 1) The first one is, the Ego-I [ahaṃkāra], generated in the Vijnānamaya Kôśa [intellect]. This results in doer-ship [kartrutva bhāva and bhokta bhāva] that leads to attachment with the mind, matter and the world and thereby misery; 2) The second one is, the Witnessing Consciousness [Drastā Bhāva], the "I", which is capable of observing the body, feelings, perceptions, and drives and impulses [saṃskārās]. This is the threshold of Liberation; 3) The third one is, when one comes out of the entire field of misery where one reaches the [so called] "STATE" where one realizes real peace and harmony [called the Other Shore]. This is the "SUPREME "I" STATE" realised after total liberation where even triputi [the knower, known and knowing of the known] ceases to exist; 4) The first one is known as 'Jîva', the second one is known as the "Ātma" and the third one is known as "Nirvāṇa or Parabrahman or Paramātma" wherein one becomes unconditionally one with the entire universe. This is also known as "Kévala Jnāna or Darśana" or as Bhagavān Buddha said "Jnāna Mattāya, Patisathi Mattāya".

1:00:08 if there is nothing eternal in us then to whom Vipassana is? As long as there is attachment towards the body and the mind, the Observer has to be there to transcend them. This is the Power of Witnessing. Once the Observer, as Goenkaji himself has said the "drusta bhaava", through objective observation transcends mind and matter, only then even the Observer ceases to be an Observer and thereby the Observer transcends himself and realizes the Ultimate Absolute Truth which Bhagavan Buddha called "nirnavana"- the Supreme State beyond Triputi.
