The sounds of my childhood, of my youth, of my being! Thank you Mahlathini and The Mahotella Queens. You were the unsung heroes during our worst struggles in South Africa. Your music kept us going and strengthened our tortured spirits... Siyabonga!

So, I'm watching this, and thinking about the number of pop stars I've seen over the last ten years or so who can't seem to do a live performance. You know who I mean--they miss their cues, they need autotune, backing tracks,or they just don't sing at all, and mime to a pre-recorded track. Groups like the Mahotella Queens work ten times as hard as those posers. I love this music!

@onekwyjibo

@onekwyjibo
