Journey back to the main eruption site at the Fagradalsfjall volcano in Iceland with geology professor Shawn Willsey on the morning of Sun, Aug 14, 2022, three days after his visit on Aug 11. Here we look at how the main vent area has grown over the past three days to become a nearly fully enclosed cone while the outflowing lava moves mainly south and east, filling in the Meradalir valley. Then journey down to the edge of the cooling flow to address volcanic hazards that exist around the eruption site.
