Thank you! Registered my US credit card without a problem. I used the English version of the app.

I was able to add my US credit card as well. However, I understand we (overseas folks) also need to add the TourCard app in order for Alipay to work. Did you add TourCard (previously called TourPass which has been replaced by TourCard as of a few months ago) to your Alipay account? I tried multiple times but was not successful.
Question: If I added a US credit card to Alipay, then, purchases with Alipay in China is just like using my credit card back in the US, am I right? Will the purchases with my Alipay in China show up on the same credit statement we see in the US, in US$ and not in RMB? According to your experience, do banks/credit cards deliberately used exchange rates favorable to themselves?
what about WeChat? Friends in China say it is used more often.

@@Kai.FoodAndTravel any fee on spending? Can I transfer money to others?

@@Woodland26 Credit crad is only for offline/online payment, can't transfer to others directly. If you have a (local) UnionPay deposit crad, then that is possible. Alipay or wechat, you can give cash to your local friends to exchange Alipay balance or wechat balance. Then payment can be done via balance.
