I have a bottle of Jazz Club and a sample of At the Barbers. I wore Jazz Club once or twice before the warm weather hit, but what I remember was the unique, almost "raunchy", tobacco. I thought the unique raunchiness of tobacco was appropriate for a jazz club vibe. As I remember it, it's a good scent. Need more wearings this coming fall though. At the Barbers is a pretty decent "barbershop" Fougere and I'm really into fougeres. In fact I have a big wall-mounted display vitrine full of nothing but barbershop fougeres, each one sort of lined up by ranking as to my favorites and fidelity to the "barbershop" vibe. So ahead of At the Barbers are: Tom Ford Beau de Jour Penhaligon Sartorial Tom Ford Fougere D'Argent MDCI Invasion Barbare YSL Rive Gauche then maybe At the Barbers. It's pretty good but I thought the perfumer maybe over thought it just a bit. I mean, adding leather because the barber's chair is leather? Is that necessary? I think the ones I've sat in are maybe vinyl anyway. Lol. It's not that the leather is too prominent or really detracts from the overall barbershop vibe at all. Just the thought of adding it. Why not metallic to replicate the scissors? Or linoleum for the floors? Aquatic for the water they spray? Lol. Anyway, pretty good and I'll have to pick up a full bottle. I have a ways to go to build my Replica line, but it's on the agenda. Thanks for the informative review.

Just bought by the fireplace 2 days ago. Love at first sniff too, such a unique fragrance. Love the 30ml bottles as well. How do you think about lipstick being discontinued?

How would you compare the one and jazz club? I really like the scent of the one but the company not so much.

By The Fireplace is basically burning smoky wood with sweet cloves... that turns to chestnuts and marshmellows/s'mores. I can see why the fireplace/campfire opening can turn off some, but most enjoy the gourmand drydown. Definitely not a linear scent, love the experience, very cozy and evocative, lasts FOREVER on clothes, not versatile at all though. Very much a spray it on my winter coat or scarf and hang it on the coat rack by the door in our winter holiday cabin for people to walk past and smell and enjoy type stuff.

No more lipstick on! Whispers in the library and I’ve heard at the barbershop may also be discontinued 😢

You might like Music festival from the line, it has apple and earthy patchouli so the scent has an interesting edge.

@@UrbanDwellerNYC Have you reviewed Hanae Mori "HM" (in frosted white bottle edt or edp) or Ungaro Pour L'Homme III. I see you have some heavy hitters you've reviewed and I'm curious to see what your honest opinion on these two would be.

Great vid! Would you say you prefer JV Vintage or At the barbers more?
@UrbanDwellerNYC

JV Vintage is definitely more unique and my pick, also a lot cheaper(!) but At the Barber's is a lot fresher of course, and perhaps a bit more versatile (like as a safe work scent)

I bought a sample pack of them all. Longevity is so weak I can't even take them seriously enough to buy a bottle (especially at the price it's retailed for a weak perfume). Shame. Otherwise I liked lazy Sunday morning, jazz club and fireplace
