So happy to see this video. I have more than 100 panel quilts, many with individual blocks. All of the panels you highlighted have eight blocks, but your patterns show 12. Do you suggest getting two panels or adding extra 2nd and 3rd fabric?

I just had an idea! It has probably already been said, but could use a coping strip on the top and bottom of alternate blocks to make them match if the panel was not a square.

Woohoo!!! Love the idea! But here is a puzzle for you. I have the Bluebird of Happiness block panel. 15 blocks in total. The block measures 7”, edge to edge, with some wiggle room to allow for an additional inch. I have the coordinating fat quarter bundle (the original precut 😊) any ideas as to a pattern?

All these patterns have 12 large blocks and the panels only have 8 separate images. There is an elephant in the room. Do the kits include 1.5 panels instead of the 8 imaged ones shown?
@FabricCafe

Hi Sharon! Yes, all of these kits include 12 panel images. The 'preview' images made available to us only included 8 panels, but the kits will have 12. 🥰

When you say 3 yards is it all materials add up as 1 yard per fabric
@FabricCafe
Ай бұрын
Hi, Lilette! Yes, that is correct. Our 3-yard quilt patterns take just three 1 yard cuts of fabric for a quilt top, borders and binding. This does not include a backing fabric, which will be an additional 3 yards of coordinating fabric for our standard lap-size patterns. Hope that helps? This video is also speaking about panel fabrics, which is slightly different...In this instance we have two one yard cuts of fabric, and then a panel fabric that includes enough squares to fill our blocks. In this case it may be more/less than a yard.

Start with finding patterns that have large blocks that are not a part of a strip assembly. The blocks should be the same size or smaller than the panel blocks you have. You can cut them down to fit the block if they are smaller, or just trim/square them to use them in a pattern that has a block the same size. We have a new panel video coming out on Oct. 1st that may have some ideas for you as well.

Love your videos, have one of your books, could you please tell me how many yards to make a full topper would it be 3 yards? Not sure how many squares. Help. Thank you
@FabricCafe
2 ай бұрын
Hi Mary! You may need 9 - 12 yards of fabric for a full. I would find the final dimension that you are wanting the quilt to be at and then work backwards from the queen/king enlargement in the book you have. It may be that you only add 2 rows/columns and add extra borders to get the size you need. If you would like to talk through it more, you can give us a call and Stephanie can walk through it with you 🥰 - 866-855-0998

I love to use a Panel on the back of a Kids Quilt as a backing to make it a double sided quilt for kids. That way, it is fun on the front or the back. You can use a panel in the center and then just add borders around it to size it up for your quilt. Great idea for a book. Can't wait to see the new quilt ideas!
