Good morning John! This is close to a year after you posted this video however I wanted to bring something to your attention. Jeweler saw blades are designed for cutting metal. The hacksaw that you were using to cut the bat is also designed for cutting metal as well. There's similar saw blade holders like the ones jewelers use that hold blades designed for cutting wood. Metal blades obviously work but take an enormous amount of additional time. I would also like to thank you for your efforts in providing these great video's. I have learned so much from your channel as well as many others here on KZitem. It's a great school. Thanks again!

You're oh so right. But, in the OJA's defense we try to focus on tools that an aspiring jeweler might have in their studio. Often, jewelers forget that the tools that they have might do the job just fine. Thanks for your support! : )

I love your channel. Besides watching all the ads through (not skipping) to help you make that 3 cents...LOL! , I don't see that you are selling anything. How can we watchers and enjoyers of your hard work support you more (financially)?

+Gabby Flying Chef Hi Gabby, Our plans to sell tools and supplies unfortunately hit a snag. We're still working on it. But, in the meantime, our viewers can help to financially support the OJA by making a "contribution" to our channel. Simply go to the OJA channel page and click on the support button to the right of our most recent videos. Or, just click on the "!" that appears in the upper right-hand corner of the screen during a video (and choose support this channel). You can also help us by sharing the OJA channel with your friends and contacts. Simply include our videos in a playlist. Or, share the links that we provide on FaceBook, Twitter and Instagram. Thank you for bring this up Gabby. You're a true friend to the OJA! : )

Hi I was always told I needed a metal mandrel to make bracelets, but I saw you use metal in one of your videos
@OnlineJewelryAcademy
8 жыл бұрын
+Mz Jazz You don't really need a metal mandrel to shape or form a bracelet. Wood works just fine. You really only need to work on a metal mandrel when it is necessary to compress the metal or forge it directly on the mandrel. Thanks for watching! : )

Hi John, Hope you had a jolly Christmas! I have a challenge for you, I know you can do this cause your that kind of guy!😸once a person has made this video project , how do you go about getting measurements in ink on your mandrel. Yes, I know they sell them. But, if you make your own..? Any suggestions?
@OnlineJewelryAcademy

+Grace Robin Hi Grace, I personally have never worked with a bracelet forming mandrel that has measurements marked on it. I've only seen ring mandrels marked in this way. The size of a bracelet is usually determined when you cut the metal for it. But, if you want to apply markings to your mandrel, just use a flexible tape measure to determine the circumference of the mandrel at various points and mark them with a permanent marker. Good luck with your bracelet projects. Thanks for watching! : )
