This might be a dumb question, but is there any reason that you couldn’t use a concrete bowl as a sink? Just drill a hole in the bottom and set it on top of a vanity? You may have to seal it with something waterproof, but that could be a cool rustic design.

So great!! Love your videos. I’m looking to make a cement ball from a yoga ball. This will be either a planter or a giant ball for my garden instead of super expensive large rocks. Speaking of large rocks, I was thinking that by deflating the ball a little, maybe I could make a ‘rock.’ I’ve watched several videos, but some are a bit complicated and use such different techniques and I don’t have confidence in the outcome. Any chance you would try this?

@edwardmurray2284

That was one fat crack going through the fireplace bowl. Ive wondered about the projects that you are using this mortar mix with; whether the extra strength incluces crack protection. There are multiple types of strength afterall, and regular concrete has very poor tensile strength which is why it is paired with things like rebar scrim, and fibers. Would be lovely if you did a video which addressed this and suggested an appropriate fiber to match with it (which could survive the heat and alkalinity as a decent quick fix for all of the projects you are using this mortar mix for). I mean, concrete goes wayyyyy deeper, polymers, plasticizers, aggregates, pozzolans, etc, but I think that simply fibers would fit in your quick and easy goal with reasonable quality control.

Jason Halvorson, There are actually some reusable, variously sized, silcone blanks that are sold SPECIFICALLY for use to "save the space" necessary to install a drain in a concrete vessel or sink. ALSO it is key to know the maximum depth your vessel or sink can be to accept your drain set up (ie. you have to purchase your drain first, and then purchase the appropriately sized silcone blank, AND THEN DON'T MAKE YOUR VESSEL OR SINK TOO THICK!). Search the internet for the reusable silcone blank, or source companies that provide materials for concrete projects. 😉you're welcome

Each bowl needed to be molded with a "spout" or spillway. My grandfather was a mason and lucky me.... my dad taught me some fantastic tricks to do with concrete. If you go into Goodwill or Dollar Tree and buy plastic deviled egg trays, fill with concrete and then tip over when set, you end up with sunflower stepping stones. Rubber Halloween masks turned upside down in a sand box, cover eyes with aluminum foil.... fill with concrete, and you get cement gargoyle heads or devils to place in your fountains and rock gardens.
