A bumpy ended thimble will mushroom the melted end too, it just leaves a texture like the cord itself. the flat tool makes sharp edges the can stick out after the bracelet shrinks from getting wet. The thimble method doesn't have this problem. Thanks for the video.

Hey Shawn. I don't know if you realize this or not, but the way you do it with the fid is actually different than the other way. The way without the fid has them closer together. When you do it that way, you are putting one in the outer loop, then in the space between them, but when you do it with the fid, the ends are always in the outer loops. I did it without the fid but like this: you basically have to put one end in a solomon, tighten it, then the other in the next solomon then start the end of the next color in yet another solomon to get them in the outer loops. Look closely at the video and you'll see what I mean. The non-fid way only takes up 3 1/2 or 4 sections. Thanks. Just letting you know that it comes out different than the fid version if you do the first way like you did in the video. 8-) Later. N.

P.S., I'm do one the other way too, because the colors are closer. I'll take pics of both to show you what I mean. 8-) Later. N.

Instead of cutting off the ends of each cord and possibly have them pop out, couldn't you join the colors together after you're done? I think it might make a more secure connection. Thanks!
@Micah4110

Karina Flower I'm sure he could but I don't think the bracelet would fit as well due to the cords going along the underside of the bracelet, and depending on the person wearing it you might have to make it even larger to fit.

if u mean melting and fusing them together then u could but there will then be hard plastic sections underneath. it also doesnt go together well. youd have to overlap them then heat up both ends then press them over each other to produce the weld and it wouldnt feel the most comfortable on the wrist

I notice the fid approach the rainbow is more spread out and the colors were placed through the high part of the Solomon, versus when you did it without the fid Color are on the high and low points of the Solomon. Did you intend that?

Great video, what's a "FID"? The paracord bracelet you are using in the demo, is this one you bought and are taking apart to show how to add colors or did you make both of these originally? Thanks

Is there a place where I can get short lengths of all the rainbow colors? Everywhere I look, you have to buy at least 10' of each cord. It would be cool if it came in a rainbow pack!

By now paracord is pretty common most crafts stores carry it. Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Joanne Fabrics. They also sell smaller kits in Walmart and Target. The smallest amount is about 8 to 10 feet. Some keychain/key fob kits have 4 feet for under $5.

can all paracord bracelet be used for survival?
@MizBryteEyez
6 жыл бұрын
radhames78 yes and no. There is almost always enough cord, strands, inside strings etc to be of some use. The 550 paracord is NOT climbing strength. Will work nicely tying up a shelter, lean-to. Tying down a tarp, tying a truck door closed because the door latch had been broken (true story ✋ )
