The HBW Auto Wedgie. Brilliant! This vid gives me an idea for a scarf joint jig for my angled headstock necks.

Lots of table saw style jigs can be adopted for the bandsaw. Sometimes they can give you another option for a certain cut.

You’re on the right track but it’s built essentially backwards and could get you into trouble . You want to enter the cut at the Tip of the “keeper” wedge and end at the butt so 1) the thick end of the cut stays against the push shoe and 2) the direction of the cut works for you pushing the work into the jig. Then you can also safely push completely through without risking cutting into your jig, cutting off the push shoe. The hinge and push shoe would be toward the operator with the opening at the other end. The fence would be on the right of the blade not the left. There is no need at all for a base in this arrangement... the workpiece slides directly on the table and the waste falls safely away from the blade. Finally you could build a ‘c’ shape to sit completely over the fence allowing the jig to just slide back and forth without having to be manually held against the fence. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your thoughts, its something I'll consider. This one can definitely cut off the shoe if I'm not careful.

Outstanding jig. I'm looking into a saw mill kit, I have access to a lot of walnut trees. And I would like to try my hand at producing my own lumber. Blessings to you and your family

What size spring did you use?

I'm not really sure. Its just some random spring I had that seemed to have enough tension. You may have to try a couple different ones to see what works for you.
