I love this concept! It’s gorgeous with jelly roll strips, but it solves a problem for me, too. This tutorial has inspired me to make a backing from an ombré fabric by cutting three strips, flipping the middle one, adding some sashing and *boom* a gorgeous quilt back.

This quilt is so simple in design and fabric but that's what makes it stunning. As a new quilter I love to see patterns that are simple yet pretty. I get so excited when you post quilts for us newbies. Quilting is such an old art and I feel blessed that I have discovered the craft and can carry on the tradition! Thank you Missouri Star Quilt Company.

I first saw a Missouri Star Quilt Company KZitem video when looking for a particular quilt pattern. It was one of those serendipitous moments when you do not find what you are looking for but do find something better. This has to be about 5 or 6 years ago and I still find something new watching these videos.

This would be a great way to make a couple of fast baby quilts using a pastels jelly roll. I started watching Jenny's tutorials several years ago when I wanted to make at least one quilt for each of my eleven grandchildren. I was very lucky to have been able to hand quilt with my grandmother when I was young. She made three quilts a year all by hand and I treasure three of her beautiful creations. I prefer to use the machine method though. I don't think I was gifted with her patience. Thank you Jenny for sharing all of your ideas with us all. The first thing I do every Friday is look for the new tutorial. I also love, love, love Block Magazine. Eleven quilts are done. With many more in the making. You just can't have too many quilts😉 right? Thanks again Jenny and your family too.

it has been only 3 years that I started quilting. February of 2014 I had enrolled in beginners quilting classes, do to health reasons I was only able to attend 3 classes. Becoming home bound needed a place to get fabric, a little quilt shop told me about Missouri Star. well that's where it all began, found the website and it has been such fun. Beautiful fabric, very helpful customer service, everything you absolutely could long for from the quilting world. I live for Friday morning's the new tutorial for the week. I started quilting about 5 years ago. Not knowing what I was doing I started researching it on line. That was when I came across Missouri Star Quilt Co. Jenny's voice was so great and sounded so much like my mom that had passed away. I have watched most all the videos. Sometimes falling asleep to the sound of her voice. With my husband over seas working it helped me through those lonely nights. I have made the zipper, wonky log cabin, numerous big bags and several others. My wish list to make is so long I will be busy for a long while. I look forward to the Friday videos. With my morning beverage and Jenny. I have visited the MSQC twice and had a blast. Love it all and all of you. My life is better for having been a part of your journey. Thank you

I first found Jenny's videos when I realized that the quilts I enjoyed receiving as a child would not be continued on to my own nieces, nephews, and children. My Grandmother who had made my quilts has gone blind to the point where she could not teach me. After a n interesting first few failed attempts I found MSQC's videos and Jenny taught me the skills I needed to keep this tradition alive in my family. When I recently made the Jack and Jill quilt for my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary my Grandmother was floored and soo happy I was keeping the tradition alive. So thank you Jenny :)

One Saturday morning I was riding my exercycle and watching a Fons and Porter quilting show on my local PBS television station. The guest for that show was Jenny Doan. I think the episode demonstrated ways to add variety to jelly roll quilts. Jenny was just so warm and friendly you couldn't help but feel like you knew her. I think I became a fan right then an there. Was so thrilled to see her in person last fall when my husband took me to Hamilton for the 8th birthday celebration of MSQC. We had such a fun time!

Hi Debi! I'd suggest keeping them side by side, and then moving on to the next set. So instead of the first color/print being 2.5" it would be 5" (minus the seam allowance). I hope this helps!

I discovered MSQC one day about 3 months ago when I was searching on the internet for an easy pattern to use up some fat quarters that had been sitting in my sewing box for close to 20 years. My grandmother was a quilter and has recently passed away. I felt that maybe if I picked up quilting again, I could feel closer to her. I didn't even know where to start hence the search. I came upon Jenny's tutorials which made even complicated patterns seem easy. 2 quilt tops later (and several planned!!), I'm back into quilting which I had abandoned long ago as being "too hard." Most of my seems match up but then "close enough is better than not done at all." Thanks so much to Jenny and the MSQC for helping me to heal and enjoy the art of quilting.

I found Jenny (MSQC) almost a year back when I first started to learn about quilting. I went searching on You Tube and wow could not believe my luck that someone was going to make my journey to learn so easy. I am now a passionate quilter and cannot stop. I have purchased most of my supplies from MSQC especially precuts, love working with them...and of course my favorite rulers 5" and 2 1/2". Just finished the super easy hour glass quilt top...and yes was super easy...Jenny you are inspiring and I cannot wait for each Friday to see your tutorial..

I started quilting about a year ago (I became a SAHM and was looking for some creative outlet.) and found MSQC when i was looking at tutorials. This has been wonderful for me as I dont really have anyone around me that quilts and Jenny makes a great teacher to watch! Love these videos and I am quickly stacking up on the books when I can find them! Thank you for making my quilting journey so much easier. You have truly been a god send.

Found out about Jenny and her videos by accident of facebook. I was a fairly new quilter, but over the last few years I have really improved my skill because of these tutorials.

I do believe I met Jenny the first time here on KZitem. Getting fabrics from her wonderful store came later. But I'm certainly hooked!

The first time I saw one of Jenny's videos was in a 24 Blocks Facebook post - it was the double-square-star-quilt video. After that, I was hooked. I enjoy receiving the daily MSQC emails, and watch the videos with my morning cup of tea.

Our local quilt store told me about MSQC and I am so grateful. Ohio Star was the first tutorial I watched...and then made it up into a dining table runner for my mom's friend's 90th birthday party. She used to live in Ohio and now moved away. She loved it as did all her family (who I grew up with).

The first MSQC tutorial I watched was Jenny's Jelly Roll Race(s) and I've been a HUGE fan ever since.( I think I Googled "easy quilts for beginners"). I placed my first order with MSQC and could not wait for my Jelly Roll to arrive! I've always followed quilting and sewing pages thinking I could never sew anything more complicated than a button or a tear in my daughter's stuffed animals. Thanks to Jenny, I now have a brand new confidence when it comes to sewing projects. I've finished my Jelly Roll Race 2 top, I finished Jenny's tea towel apron, I made a wall-hanging with Sun Bonnet Sue appliques, I've finished the Sprocket Pillow and have started a quilt for my son and one for my daughter! Thank you Jenny and MSQC!

Found the shop online. Then our guild invited her to speak and teach and she came! This of course was several years ago but people still say she is their favorite speaker!

I am new at quilting. I happened to Google quilting for beginners and MSCQ came up on you tube. I just love Jenny, she makes everything seems so easy. Everything I make a quilt I just go to my MSQC Apple and make a quilt from there. I can understand everything that Jenny is doing and follow her very well. Thanks Jenny! Don't know what I would do if you weren't there at the beginning and are still here now.

I found Missouri Star from a group of ladies who adopted me into their quilting circle and told me I *had* to make the Disappearing 9 Patch. I went looking for that video and then watched several more. I never did make the 9 patch, but I've made several other Missouri Star patterns and now faithfully watch the new tutorial every week!

I think I came across Missouri Star Quilt Company simply by doing a youtube search on quilting and quickly fell in love with Jenny's upbeat, encouraging personality! I am relatively new to quilting. I am currently working on the Half Square Triangle Four Seasons quilt. :)
