I haven't got a recliner but a simple idea for making adjustable feet, something to keep in mind for solutions for my uneven shop floor. Love your videos I have learnt a lot from you since starting my CNC hobby.

Peter, since I started watching your channel, I acquired a 600 x 1200 machine. Funny that it is sitting on the base I built for my "Bridge to far" DIY attempt. Heavy rectangular steel welded table weighing over 300lbs. ( estimated) It really came in handy. But anyway, long story short, I had to disassemble the machine to hoist it onto the platform. In so doing I reassembled with just a guess at a proper tram of the Z axis assembly. In the episode where you show some hardwood tramming tool and indicator solution you did not touch on how you drilled a perfectly perpendicular hole in the material. I don't trust my column drill press state of tram anymore than I could throw it, especially since it is adjustable to at least 30 to 45 degrees tilt. I suppose I can get out my machinist squares and muddle through. But the longer the tramming bar the better your work must be. Devil is always in the details Off topic yes, sorry. All the best my CNC friend and I hope you are safely out of lock down. Regards, C

Hi Chris, I didn't drill a perfectly perpendicular hole. Any hole on any angle will work. the relationship between the spindle chuck and the point of reference is set and won't change. the actual angle is irrelevant. This is a case of overthinking it. cheers Peter

@@cncnutz Come on Peter, thats nonsense. If I where to buy a proper tramming tool, do you think that it is made with arbitrary angles? I got Z issues with my extruded alum. bed as well, and don't need any guess work. So to that end I have had a proper 8mm x 8mm - 90deg block created in Fusion 360 and made in a proper trammed knee mill in 6061 T6 Aluminium. Add some 8mm guide rail and my 8mm collet and I can at least begin with some confidence

I've been wanting to do this to my recliner for awhile now. I actually avoid using it because it leans too far back. This is perfect!

Nice design, you can buy higher bases from your local la Z boy retailer, they aren't adjustable though.

A few thoughts. Do you own imperial wrenches along with your metric like we do in the US? LOL. And did you change to Masso because of issues with drivers and stepper boards problems? I have really looked at the Masso products and I may change over. Thanks and keep them coming.

Hi Dave. I own both metric and imperial everything. Drills, spanners, rulers, socket sets and underwear. I have not had any driver issues or stepper board issues. I still use the same steppers I had previously. I changed because I started doing support and video work for Masso in my spare time. I needed to learn and what better way to learn than by using the product. I found that I like my Masso and continue to use it on my machine though I don't have too. If you want to learn a bit more about how to install a Masso check out my other channel CNCnutz Masso edition. There is a series I'm slowly creating on setting up Masso, in my spare, spare time. Cheers Peter

It's a factory 2nd and cost me $25. Probably overkill but it has been sitting in my shop for 5 years now and might as well be used for something useful. Of course now I have cut it up I will probably need it for something else. Cheers Peter

@@cncnutz Yes, that is why I always use replacement cost to value it, even if I got it for free.
