@Homoholic Well, it's a matter of taste, but I loved the way she used that Orthodox look combined with a Medusa look to create her own "from the crypt" beauty, in a way that I've seen imitated by many since. She must have spent quite a while getting set for a show! I think her creativity was superb. She really knew how to use her very beautiful face as well. A wonderful performer and innovative singer - before her time, I'd say, but timely all the same, even now.

Truly, I think that "March" has been unfairly overlooked, and underrated. While I love Lene and Less with a full band, this is the way they have to work: and they are at their sonic peak, in my opinion. The opening track "Life" is among their very best, and "Night Shift" is absolutely steallar!I find "Vertigo" to be inventive vocally, and "Shadow Walk" could have been on any of her Stiff lp's. Check out the reworking of "Natural Beauty" by Thorne, who produced her latest, "Shadows & Dust"!

I honestly do NOT like her later material but this song is the exception. Its epic and strong. But her first 3 LP's are the strongest most original and creative female Rock stuff since, well Jefferson Airplane and Grace Slick. Acid Queens both! Other female greats, kd Lang, Billie Holliday, Sade, Nina Hagen, Siouxsie Sioux, Garbage, Roison Murphy, Robyn, Missy Elliot, Blondie, Joni Mitchell, Patti Smith, Sinead O Connor,.I can't stand today's 'music' but between Cab Calloway (1933) and 2003 we have had some great stuff!

I'm relatively new to Lene's music. Here, she reminds me of Kate Bush, but edgier.

She was the first and freshest. Check out 'FLEX'. One of the best LP's ever. A female Depeche Mode a half decade earlier!

I've not listen to "March" in quite awhile but I always had the feeling it would of be a stronger album if she recorded with a band than stripping in each part. There are times you need a solid band performance as a base to build on than to overdubbing everything. When Roy Wood records this way, its because he has a limited budget, I assume the same was true with recording March.
