I'm so glad I found your channel, this is by far the clearest glycerin soap I've seen to date, and by far the easiest process as well. I still have some questions, and I hope you will respond. 1. What is the proper PH level for this soap, 2. Can this soap be remelted, 3. Are you using isopropyl, or methyl alcohol, 4. Can you use a silicone mold, and 5. Due to severe allergies, can another oil be substituted for the coconut oil, and if so, which oil would you suggest? I know there a lot of questions, but I really want to try to make this soap, but I want to do it correctly, and make a safe soap. Thank you for being so kind as to share nor only your method, but your recipe as well, I appreciate you! 💗

@soapncrafts

Prasad Rangajeewa Prasad Rangajeewa thanks for watching! 1. I had tried with PG, did not work in this recipe. 2. As long as the atmosphere is try, the soap would not sweat. 3. Sweating is the nature of glycerin soap, I low sugar and low glycerin would make a low sweat soap. However I do not have a recipe for low sweat soap yet. 4. If stearic acid is too high, the soap would not bubble. However could experiment yourself.

Alcohol doesn’t matter just never use methanol /methyl alcohol since it’s really dangerous. For citric acid (if you want to neutralize the soap) just make a solution of it. Doesn’t really matter if it’s powder or crystals

@SpaceGhostSupreme

I use an electric stir stick. Is it normal for the pre-alcohol mix to be soup-like due to the high speed mixing? I let mine cool down until it was like whipped mash potatoes, then added 190 proof ethanol to the mix then microwaved it for a minute. After a minute, it wasn't quite melted enough so I added another 30 seconds, then another 30 seconds as it still wasn't liquid. I then used my electric stir stick and it all melted together to liquid, but it was not perfectly clear as in your video, kind of a tan-yellow transparent. I poured that into my molds. Have to see tomorrow if it works, but it looks like it is starting to set. I made a batch earlier the same way, but that clumped like in your video, so I not sure why it was so much creamier and soupy liquid this time before adding the alcohol.

Hi , thank you so much for sharing this recipe.. I tried it using the same recipe BUT the soap is still liquid after 15 hours ☹️☹️ any suggestions? I followed all the instructions, dont know why this happened The only difference i made was i used 70% alcohol instead of 99% and I added drops of chamomile essential oil at the end as fragrance Could this be the reason?
@soapncrafts
4 жыл бұрын
Yes, try 99% instead. 70% may be too low the water amount is high in the soap. Another reason maybe the temperature was not enough. When you mix lye with oil, both of them are hot (over 80•F/ 176•F). After you microwave the mixture, you should see the alcohol is reacting with lye solution, it was bubbling, and it may have some steam coming out). If both of the temperature and bubbling did not occur that means it won’t work.

Can this be used as a soap base? Or better yet can colorant be added before putting the soap in a mold and still keep the transparency? I'm interested in making honey soap and have that honeycomb color and look. Also after cutting the soap is curing needed? How fast can it be used?
@soapncrafts
Жыл бұрын
For hot process normally is suggested to cure 2weeks, but you could use right away if the pH is not too high (pH = 9-10 is ideal). It is not the melt and pour method, you may find that this method the soap is very soft, and not very good for remelt. I am just providing a inspirational idea, you could feel free to adjust according to your own needs.

Stearic acid join the saponification in this recipe. It also helps with the hardness body of the soap, if you decide to work without it, you need to recalculate the lye amount. The end result might be getting a soft bar instead.
