You're absolutely right about just creating the content. I completely agree with you on QUANTITY over quality. Ofcourse this is not to say, to create crap videos and post it, but to focus on CREATING as much as you can, so that you LEARN and GROW from it. And I think this process never ends, even if you reach a million subs or whatever. My most popular video was a video i was almost NOT going to upload as it was badly shot and my background room was a complete mess and I was just talking the entire time and thought it'd be boring to many, but I literally remembered your advice to just HIT PUBLISH without worrying too much about "perfection", and that's exactly what I did. And today, it has over 350,000 views! Imagine that! Only because i took your word and didn't chase "perfection". Thanks Roberto, for inspiring many small Creators like me ❤️

I couldn’t agree more about the content in this video. When I first started this journey the amount of things I’ve learned about a camera, photoshop, premiere is kinda shocking but it was all because I just kept creating. I agree that we have to respect the process and it’s all about repetition to become good at something. Solid message bro.

"Practice makes progress." is a great mindset to have. Perfection is impossible to achieve, but we can always improve our skills and strive to do better than we did the day before. I think there's a lot of value to be gained from a 'quantity becomes quality' approach when bettering our craft. Using terms like 'versus' or 'over' implies one is superior to the other when in reality they work alongside one another. One creator I've often looked up to both as an inspiration and a friend is Mike from the vlog channel Press Record. His use of creative elements and cinematic shots enhance his videos in a way that a lot of other vloggers don't utilize. Then again not all vloggers have a film degree.

I confirmed your quantity>quality. There is a popular challenge for artists, the "Draw this again" challenge. Artists takes their own old drawings and redraw it to see the progress they made. And I noticed the people who made the craziest progress in the shortest period of time where the ones who draw a lot. But a lot really. When I realize that, I told myself "I have not excuse to cry because I have no talent, I just have to draw more!" 😂

Everyone knows that he’s VERY good at capturing images (both still & moving), but I think his editing skills are at LEAST on par with his ability to capture. Look at his newest intro; VERY creative, and really well edited. I LOVE the art of editing, & I’m pretty ok at it, but not on Peter’s level. He drives me to be better. Liking The Casey, of course, mainly for these reasons: His storytelling skills, and finding a story (setup - conflict - resolution) in the mundane. And, not forgetting, his skill in his casual- looking, by- the- way- style of shooting which makes it look so effortlessly (which in fact is very hard to do, especially if you try to maintain a daily turnout). Liking CGP Grey, for his caual and fun presentation of infotainement. Much fun. James Popsys, for being imperfect. And perfectly fine with it. Sean Tucker for his photography and deep thoughts on it. Peter McKinnon, who goes without saying. And many nameless more.

I think, " Do you know how to use lighting?" LOL. Even now I rarely adjust my aperature or ios, because Id rather focus on where i can stand to get a shot with observing where and how the light around my shot is entering through structures such as windows, trees, building s etc. Damn Roberto. 💯 You want to make the best videos within reason and focus on honing your times down. I'm realizing that I can spend weeks editing for only a minimally better product. And often, it's things no one cares about or that are tiny/minor. So, I've been focused on extreme minimalism and saying things 1x. I come from an academic background so I'm used to repeating myself a lot. No more! Plus, the more audio you cut, the less video is needed! Talk about a way to save editing time, chop off 4-5 minutes. 🔥 I think what you're suggesting is to determine the baseline "good" in your niche, master that, then move to way better. And like you say, the more videos you make, the better you get. Even when you're a pretty good editor, each project has different intentions. But when you hone something to death, the most likely outcome is continued coddling. And your audience will let you know if something sucks--I have a tiny one and they sure do, haha.

Amen and exactly how I learned the chops - in addition to getting consulting. :) It's maybe a cliche, but the old saying that the map is not the territory is so true when it comes to creating. And you learn so much about creativity being something completely other than what it appears on the surface to be. There are so many ways to combine existing elements that you realize it's all so much easier than it seems. Of course, the consequence is that it's easy to get rusty quickly when you stop. I'm finding this now as I get back into writing some fiction. I left that realm of creativity for far too long. But creating more and consistently is the key to getting the gears back in order again. Thanks as always for the great videos!
