Enjoyed the video and I have started to subscribe. The link didnt work. Tried it from my phone and iPad. Got a 404. Perhaps it is because I am using the KZitem app but in both cases it tried to open in chrome

This looks like a great idea, how do you come up with the pricing for each item?
@mrcraftsmith

I based the pricing around similar products selling on Etsy - and then in the case of the birthday reminder piece added a little as my process was more intricate than the products I was comparing to

Hi can you tell me the font that is used please 🙏

Hi David - the font I used is Montana - however you will need to pay for a commercial licence if you want to use it for products you intend to sell - www.getstud.io/font/montana-typeface/

That's great, Darren! I'm not really interested in running a business, but it sure would be nice if my hobbies could pay for themselves! "Selling" definitely makes me uncomfortable, but I'd be happy to fill a request.

Darren nice video. I often post my work amongst my face book friends and I in turn pick up extra work. I am a wood worker but use the laser to augment my projects, this adds value and it adds a unique touch to my work that my customers like. I recently retired and have been doing more and more wood working, it’s kinda of a hobby and side hustle combined. Keep up the great videos.

Thanks Dave - I have plans to get more woodworking happening in the studio in 2024 to compliment the lasering :) - Congrats on the retirement - sounds like a great plan

Sell some items would help cover the material I want to play with. But putting a price on it has always been a problem with me . I just can't charge enough for anything I do. I hope your info will help me with it. Some other KZitem channel said that there needs to be a minimum $40 charge in the USA to do anything. I think I need to give things away to get the word out. Thank You for your info on many subjects. A New Be here

Hey there Larry - thanks for watching - pricing is such a variable thing it's difficult if you are doing just as a hobby - because this is not my full time gig - I just looked at similar products on etsy as a price guide - but the best thing is you can charge whatever you like 👍- I wish you well in your endeavours

The question is, for me, to be creative, innovative and don't simply copy the work of others. This is the very difficult part for me. I think that we need to test, in someway try to put an object on the socials, but also studying a lot about people's tastes. Then orders can arrives when you least expect for it.

Perfectly logical thought process - also depends on your goals - when you have a goal to generate some short term income, the luxury of creative thought and untested products is not always going to get you to the goal. Don't get me wrong here, I absolutely support the creative thought process and innovation, the point of this video was more about servicing short term goals with a strategy that can help with those goals.

Hmmm.... I would tell you, like I tell my student. What is your target audience? Are you doing this as a hobby or to make money? And last but not least, do you like it and does everyone agree? He is right about what this is about, but what you need is a creative goal. Do you know what you like and feel you can accomplish? Nothing's impossible, what is impossible is if you don't try. Paper and pencil or should I say a tablet and stylus. lol Get to scribbling!
