No, I do sound that bad..😂😂😂 the first solo is me. And I mean that with all my heart. It sounded EXACTLY like the way I play. Even that one out of tune and time bend. This is great.

Thank you once more Adrian. I’m trying to play solo for aleady a long time but didn’t get much better for the reasons you spoke of in the beginning of this lesson. The 10 recommands in this lesson were eye openers for me. Yes i know the pentatonic scale all over the body but now i’m already a lot better in making music of it just in a few weeks time. There are a lot of good teachers on KZitem and i tried a lot but from now on most of the time i’ll stick to your lessons. I made a excell sheet with only links to your lessons and headlines like “Solo”, “Practising”, “Metronome”, “Rhythm”, “Songs” and start my daily lessons with it. Many times i repeat lessons of you and only listen to what you play and say as only your spoken words are so important to absorb!!! Now i am far better organized! And that is a very important for me (as it would be for anyone else). And really every lesson of you are fantastic, and makes me say something like WOOOWWW! I can’t thank you enough Adrian! Very kind regards from Henk (the Netherlands).

Never be too "scalely" . Information mixed with humor. The spice of life plus a little weird. A great teacher is a treasure. I'm glad when people aren't embarrassed being who they are. Finally, I'm writing this because because like many I realize this is a great lesson. Thanks for your time and effort on this channel.

Great, as always Adrian. No matter how experienced - or not - every guitarist can take something away from your videos. My take on using scales has been (for what it's worth), that a scale is like a specific vocabulary and the best guitar solos mimic the emotions to be found in the human voice using that vocabulary. That all the bends, slides, vibrato, and so on, are towards that aim. When we speak, we pause, we speak louder or softer, we cry when we hurt. That sort of thing. It can help my students understand some musicality without having to have music theory. For my students who prefer a more practical and (I'll admit) more accessible take on scales and solos, I now have this. Thank you.

Another great one Adrian. Your vibrato reminded me of Nels Cline and I recognized the sounds of a ring modulator if I'm not mistaken. Years ago, I built all the projects in a book by Craig Anderton called Electronic Projects for Musicians and the modulator was one of them. I remember my wife asked me once if I used it because I was mad at her since she heard me play at home regularly.

It hadn't really occurred to me before how central this fact is to Adrian's appeal. All media--TV, radio, KZitem, etc.-- are full of people yelling at you, desperate to have you pay attention to them, which is why I partake of almost none of it. Adrian's just sharing what he has (which happens to be great stuff) for anyone who is interested. Very different from the hard sell vibe of most of the world.

Amazing lesson. This all sounds vaguely reminiscent of Nels Cline's approach in Wilco's "Impossible Germany" (one of my favorite songs and guitar players). Your tips were excellent. Really smart. And as usual your playing is beautiful. Your opening solo immediately reminded me of my lead guitar exploits in my high school band. You nailed my repertoire note for note.

Something I noticed: you didn't use scale fingerings - much - in your solos. (Although you did when you played the actual scale of course.) So perhaps that's another thing people could look at - let the expressive techniques used dictate the fingerings.

Would it be a fair assessment to say that 'music' comes only from using PARTS of each scale position linked together. In other words, playing EVERY note in each position sounds like a SCALE, but when some notes from each position are MISSED OUT/SKIPPED, it then sounds like MUSIC?

Me, I've got $5K AUD worth of axes and gear I didn't have a year ago...and even though I have multiples of everything (guitars, amps, overdrive pedals..)
