One of the brainiest shows Nickelodeon had to offer, Make the Grade aired for two seasons. This is from season two, with Robb Edward Morris hosting. Contestants: Danny / Nicole / Jon Part 1 of 3
I remember this game show and it's fun and educational for teachers and students.

I think the buzz-in sound was changed when this show relocated to Nickelodeon Studios to make the sound more audible for Robb. Whatever you’d hear when a contestant buzzed in during Lew’s era was rather quiet!

Actually, this is from season 3. It's first two seasons (fall 1989, spring 1990) were with Lew Schneider, and its last season (fall 1990) was with Robb Edward Morris.

Let's be honest with ourselves, a show that was basically Jeopardy for kids on a network that was all about giving off that "kids in their treehouse" fun vibe in their programming was always going to have a short shelf life and before you say "well Double Dare tested kid's brain skills too!" but they only occasionally asked questions that made contestants have to really think and even then it was just a way to get them to go for physical challenges.

@@SpikeShooter92 You're absolutely right... a show as cerebral as "Make the Grade" was never a good fit on a network that was geared toward children that just wanted to be amused by their TV sets. It definitely wouldn't work today (there was actually a point in time since my original post 11 years ago, that kids were eating laundry detergent pods). I think the point that I was trying to make was, the particular host of this show seen in this video was not comfortable hosting a show... not comfortable trying to act like someone he wasn't... and definitely not comfortable around kids. But from a programming aspect.. the points you make are dead right.

Nickelodeon could've gotten someone else to do the show besides Robb Morris. Lew Schneider of course, went on to better things. Mike O'Malley would've been good.

Well, I think what happened was Rob just got way too nervous most of the time since he probably was new to the game show world. I know one thing if that was me, I would be scared out of my wits myself if I got a gig hosting a game show for the first time.

I agree with most here. Morris as host is the real problem with this show. He seems lost and confused and dazed most of the time and talks so softly and slowly at times. Way too slow and breaks the pace of the show. He wasn't a good choice. I can't believe they couldn't find someone other than this guy to read some questions and not be so lost and confused all the time while hosting here.

Robb seems like a toned down version of Alex Trebek.
