Make sure it's the Fusion page where you have effects panel open. Edit page won't work.

Really handy tutorial, your channel is the reason I'm anywhere near as good at DaVinci as I am today. I've tried setting up my own Macros before but for some reason I've had issues with the editable properties appearing on the Edit page. Are there any sorts of restrictions on those features I should be aware of or any sorts of pitfalls I may be running into with setting up macros?

This was REALLY HELPFUL, and i have no words to THANK YOU. I have one question though: If i use 2 Fusion Compositions as 2 different layers to generate particles (snow) , can i actually turn the 2 into JUST ONE setting file ? I suppose that wouldn't work, because i can select at one time just the nodes into one of my Fusion Comp :(

I had something weird happen. At 2:51 Im following along and I can't get the sStar to merge with the sRectangle. Turns out I grabbed the Rectangle node instead of the sRectangle node. Im gonna figure this whole fusion thing out one of these days, but I glad your videos are so crisp and clear or I would not have noticed the difference.

This is really useful, thank you. Quick question: can you add a text field as a variable in the effect template inspector window? You showed how you can export your arrow as an effect and change the size and colour of it, but I'm just wondering how easy it is to create a simple animated title sequence template, with a text field that's customisable in the edit timeline. Would you consider this as a possible video tut?! Thank you, I've been binging on your Fusion videos, they're really good.

how can I make it to be duration adjustable but without changing the speed of the in and out animation, so that it always comes in at the same speed, stay on screen as long as i want and go out at the same speed?

I almost successfully applied it. The only one thing (I know it's me but I have not clue how to do it) is that: if I make a stinger, when I import it, the transparency is lost. I mean: there is in the original Fusion composition. But once it's saved then used it into the Edit page, the transparency is lost, then I get "black screen" instead of transparent background. Cna you help with this please? DRS 18.6.5

Casey, I’m having some trouble getting started here. Lol. My rectangle and star don’t show up white on the left screen, then are clear outline and when I hit 1, the background turns to black. Your “media out” node has 3 circles underneath it and yours is clicked on the center one to nightlight it. Mine only has 2. Is this it? How do I change mine? Thanks!
@CaseyFaris

No I have 3 dots because I have an external viewer. You need to view the smerge or srender in a viewer to see both the shapes in white or make sure they're connected to media out if you have that in a viewer

@@CaseyFaris sorry Casey, I don’t mean to be a pain. I’m actually pretty decent at Davinci but this is not working. I’m like 2 minutes into your video, you’ve added the sRec, and when you hit 1 it shows it in the preview window on top of the alpha background. When I add the sRec, it shows it as a green outline only and when I hit 1, the background goes black and still no rectangle. I’m sure it’s some little setting somewhere. Any help would be appreciated! Could I email you?

The first time I tried this it worked, but the second time I had issues with the Anim Curves option not appearing. Right click on "Center", then "Modify With" and select "XY path". Go into Modifiers, and try to right click there - but still no Anim Curves option. I overcame this by using "Vector Result" instead of "XY Path" which intuitively makes more sense actually since the elements are angle and distance, not X distance and Y distance linked together. Anyone else see this, or any ideas what I may have done wrong? A second, related question. I tried using an image rather than a constructed graphic. It worked fine initially, but after shutting down DaVinci and restarting, I get the error that the Media is Offline. Clearly it is looking in the wrong place, since the media image didn't get moved. Any idea how to fix this, or create it initially in such a way that it doesn't get messed up by a restart? Thanks Casey - keep up the good work!! I am a regular watcher.
