In today's video I'll demonstrate how you can create your own inexpensive cottage decor. I'll show you how I used outdated and damaged home decor that I thrifted from Goodwill to create Spring themed cottage decor. For some of the pieces I used a few free printables that I downloaded from the Graphics Fairy and decoupaged them and used chalk paint. I added florals to the recycled lamp shade using IOD stamps. I also refreshed a cute little chicken "jar-sitter" by repainting it with two coats of ivory colored chalk paint. Most items are painted with neutral tones of chalk paint but I used a fresh "cottage core" shade of green as a new twist on the two lamp bases. Once the pieces were dry I used a spray clear coat on the stamped shade and I brushed on two coats of matte clear coat on the remaining items.
Here is a list of the supplies I used:
Chalk paint: Rustoleum Chalked Paint in Chiffon Cream and Fresh Linen
Top Coat: Rustoleum 2X Ultra Cover Matte Clear Spray and Rustoleum Matte Clear Top Coat
MudPaint chalk/mineral paint in Moss Green (www.mudpaint.com) (if they are still in business)
Iron Orchid Designs stamp pattern La Campagne (www.ironorchiddesign.com/locations)
Graphics Fairy free printables: www.graphicsfairy.com
(I do not receive compensation from the above companies but am providing this for information purposes.)
