Great job man. I walk around with a 7 these days, my 23 is almost obsolete. However, I have used it recently to find 00 nuggets that the 15 cc can’t find once unearthed. I can’t believe the weight difference, from nickel to lithium, huge!! Great video mate

Two things let down this $4000 AUD detector....the batteries fitting into the machine and the audio system in general. Otherwise.....it is a fantastic machine.

Yeah, can't disagree. Go second hand though and get one for $2,800 as I did and that $1,200 saving well makes up for it, I would say. Plus the ability now to fit different coils has made it an even more versatile unit than it already was. Many a positive. I'd recommend one in an heartbeat. It is a shame they couldnt get some of the simpler stuff right though, I hear what you're saying.

Haha. I feel sorry for you. Even if it did cost that much? So? People spend 10x that every day on a boat, or a mower, or literally anything for a hobby or whatever...hobbies that dont even have the potential pay out at all like prospecting could. If you're into prospecting in 2022 to get rich or make money and not for the fun of the hobby then you're doing it wrong and thats your problem. But anyways...It didnt cost me two ounces. Im not stupid enough to buy it brand new. AND I sold my SDC2300 for more than I paid for it 3 years after I bought it. It didnt just hold, but gained value. So two ounces that cost me? Okay two ounces cost (but not really) for 3 years and countless hours of fun pursuing my hobby. Seems worth it to me, more value than most hobbies which are usually money sinks.

@@DigginForGold You are quite right about hobbies being money-sinks. Good to see you bought wisely. Make other people pay for your hobby by buying and selling wisely. 99% of finding gold underground with a detector is knowing where to look. Once you are OVER the gold, the detector will tell you it is there. That's all a detector does. Finding that spot(s) is all skill. My criticisms were aimed at Minelab's prices, not your choices. I will be building my own detector (electronics eng. here), winding my own coil to the precise required inductance and making the carriage assembly myself. 50% of the fun of detecting for gold is being out there. Another 40% is being with mates out there, the remaining 10% is finding something and having the 'boast capability' back at camp with your mates when sharing a meal and a beer. Your channel is a good one, I love it.
